The Azores has approved management rules for the Azores Marine Park - the largest marine reserve network in the North Atlantic, covering 30% of its waters.

All ten species of manta and devil rays are now protected under CITES Appendix I, the highest level of international protection. This historic vote bans all international commercial trade, including gill plates and meat, giving these marine giants a fighting chance.
Having all international trade banned will give real hope that manta and Devil ray populations may have a chance 👏👏
