An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

This is some very welcome good conservation news! Huge congratulations to the @mantatrust.bsky.social team, reward for all your hard work and passion.

Having all international trade banned will give real hope that manta and Devil ray populations may have a chance 👏👏
📣 We did it!

All ten species of manta and devil rays are now protected under CITES Appendix I, the highest level of international protection. This historic vote bans all international commercial trade, including gill plates and meat, giving these marine giants a fighting chance.

🌱 How does biodiversity fuel wellbeing?

A Finnish kindergarten experiment shows that kids playing in mud, moss & wild plants see striking results: stronger immune systems, happier moods, and a real-life lesson in nature’s power. 🌿

Met a birder today while walking on S Devon coast path. Watching a small copse with 2 goldcrest, a firecrest, a willow warbler and a blackcap. In late October. We had 2 blackcaps in late Jan UK bird watch - think more are staying around over winter?

Global sea surface temperatures continue to cool off as we head into La Nina. 2025 (for the 1st time in 3 years) will not set a new global temperature record.

It's the steady longer-term warming that is cause for concern. It will continue until human carbon emissions cease.

Truth is bad enough.
