Je schrijft een aanbesteding van 10 miljoen uit op maat van Tim. Tim tekent niet in. UG en KUL wel. Je trekt de aanbesteding in en geeft Tim 8 miljoen.

"De woordvoerder van Demir begrijpt de commotie niet."

Die woordvoerder heeft dringend kennisrijk onderwijs nodig.

Pot van 8 miljoen euro voor Thomas More zorgt voor beroering in onderwijskringen
Vlaams minister van Onderwijs Zuhal Demir (N-VA) heeft voor 340 miljoen euro aan maatregelen klaar om in het basisonderwijs de focus te leggen op kennis. Dat Hogeschool Thomas More hier 8 miljoen euro van krijgt, zorgt voor commotie in zowel politieke als in onderwijskringen.

Update: De Vlaamse Regering kende vrijdag op voorstel van Zuhal Demir (N-VA) een subsidie van 8,24 miljoen euro toe aan het Expertisecentrum van Tim Surma. Niet alle ministers vinden dat een goed idee. “Ze gingen pas akkoord nadat Demir beloofde alle shit te incasseren.”

Dat onderwijs zijn doelen niet meer haalt, ligt wellicht niet alleen aan het onderwijs. Dat wordt veel te weinig meegenomen. De maatschappij verandert snel, ook de rol die de school in het leven van jongeren speelt. 'Kwaliteitsverlies' wordt aangegrepen om een bepaald onderwijs weer in te voeren.

Ja, en het past in een ruimere restauratiebeweging die momenteel plaatsvindt, ook op andere domeinen dan onderwijs en in andere landen.

Inderdaad. En dat is wat me stoort aan die column. De nuance is volledig weg. Er wordt één visie naar voor geschoven, andere visies worden aan de kant geschoven, terwijl net de analyse zou moeten worden gemaakt hoe we tot én én kunnen komen.

Weet je waar ze dat wel doen? In methodescholen, zoals het Steineronderwijs of het Freinetonderwijs. Maar precies dat onderwijs wordt in het verdomhoekje gezet. Frappant, toch.

Niemand is tegen kennis. Er bestaan wel verschillende visies over welke kennis belangrijk is en hoe die best wordt overgedragen. Maar dat is altijd zo geweest. Niet iedereen aanvaardt dat onderwijs naast kennisoverdracht ook andere functies heeft in de samenleving.

Alsof alle kennis nu verdwenen is. Dat gelooft u toch zelf niet? Vandaar: een beetje nuance zou geen kwaad kunnen. En ook andere problemen, zoals bijvoorbeeld het lerarentekort, benoemen.
