A global shift to plant-based diets could free an area of land as big as the US, China, the EU and Australia combined: restored ecosystems could draw down CO2, making our diets carbon negative. Average food emissions per person would be reduced from about 2,000 kg CO2eq/year to -160 kg CO2eq/year.
From nuts to kelp: The 'carbon-negative' foods that help reverse climate change
Eating low-carbon foods helps reduce emissions, but some foods actually suck up carbon from the atmosphere for good, leaving the climate in a better place. Could we eat more of them?

@cerysmatthews.bsky.social Loving the programme today, especially the @chrisgpackham.bsky.social interview, and particularly the namecheck for Rathlin Island, listening here on Rathlin. Thinking now of this amazing track Injured Bird by Vic Chesnutt and Michael Stipe: youtu.be/oP0Sd8Cyy9c?...

I can still recall all the tut-tutting from the media when Harris made this argument.
Kamala Harris at her closing campaign rally:

"Donald Trump intends to use the United States Military against American citizens who simply disagree with him."
The goal here is martial law. Itโ€™s martial law. Letโ€™s be clear about that.

Trump has:

- Illegally & unconstitutionally attacked Venezuela

- Provided Netanyahu with $12B in arms sales

- Given Argentina's president a $40B bailout

- Approved the sale of jets & tanks to Saudi Arabia

- Given Qatar an Air Force facility in Idaho

America first? Really?
In case youโ€™re wondering whether the pro-ICE reactions to Renee Nicole Goodโ€™s murder are natural, hereโ€™s a comment that was just left on my video. My video about anti-transgender bias at the BBC. I havenโ€™t made a video about Good yet.

REPORTER: The Capital Planning Commission is concerned the 89,000 square foot ballroom is going to dwarf the rest of the rest of the WH. Do you worry about that?

TRUMP: No no. People love the ballroom. We need it. If we would've had the ballroom today, we could've had all the oil companies there.

If a Pakistani Muslim owned X, distributed indecent images of girls on a platform where govt do their PR, where some receive payments for posts, they would have distanced themselves by now. X would be shutdown and Braverman and Farage would be calling for a ban and investigation into Pakistani men.
Rep. Ben Cline: "Any time you have a loss of life it's a tragedy, but what we have here is law enforcement engaged in enforcing the law. What we need is for Americans to respect that."
A headline to sum up our times:
Edit and Create Image now a 'premium perk' the AI chatbot says.

Just seen Grok putting the body of the victim of the ICE shooting in Minneapolis into a bikini. Digital corpse desecration now available to the public.
Whether itโ€™s Democrats putting their pronouns in email signatures or Republicans shooting and killing unarmed drivers, both sides have taken actions that the other side finds threatening.
I call on my party and my government to remove themselves entirely from X and communicate with the public where they actually participate online and can be protected from such illegality.
Right after Renรฉe Goodโ€™s disgusting murder, a ICE goon was filmed kicking her memorial candles.
Absolutely vile.
My word. (Again.)

Media Minister Patrick O'Donovan: "At the end of the day, it's the choice of a person to make these images... technology is moving so fast... even if the law is changed there's no doubt about... the advances are far faster than law is able to respond..."

Van Gogh distrusted varnish. He left his paintings matte, which he considered closer to the natural appearance of the paint and more aligned with his artistic vision.

One of the obvious concerns about the administration's killing spree at sea was that if the US government would lawlessly kill people on the high seas just because the administration spuriously labeled them as "terrorists", it might do so elsewhereโ€”including in the United States.
This angle shows Trumpโ€™s ICE agent standing on the side of the vehicle and firing into the open window at the driver. This was murder.
