This year I became the chair of the Democratic Party in Utah's second largest county.

I'm working to build a real party from the neighborhood up, but we don't get support from the national party.

I'm a political scientist and it took me a minute to figure out what they wanted out of "Strong floor, no ceiling" and boy does that make me worried about what the inattentive voter will think.

It is *lunacy* for the ostensibly liberal opposition party to say we shouldn't limit any individual's wealth and power after watching a cadre of fascist billionaires systematically destroy this country. That's probably the single most important thing we *must* do!

LSU is paying its previous football coach over $50 million NOT to coach there while likely guaranteeing Kiffin something approaching double that, all while having an academic hiring freeze and budget cuts across the board. What is the purpose of a university (rhetorical)?
SOURCES: Lane Kiffin is expected to accept LSU's offer to become the Tigers next head coach. Kiffin is set to meet with his Ole Miss team this morning at 9 AM CT. As we reported yesterday morning, LSU has been very confident it was going to land Kiffin. www.nytimes.com/athletic/684...

We have an issue, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful how anything is perceived, and also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.

Right. This is normally a prelude to imminent war. But no one knows if the us president is serious or had a bad breakfast or is making an insane joke or had a stroke or whatever.
This seems like the kind of declaration by a U.S. president that should be mentioned *somewhere* on the front page of CNN or the NY Times, but the fact that it isn't (as of right now) tells us so much both about how this president is covered and the credibility of the U.S. government.
Might be kicking off.

Sounds like CEOs are replaceable and shouldn't be paid nearly as much as they are.
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests

When these people voted for a Republican Congress, they actually wanted a Congress but instead got weakness that surrendered power.
Look at this incredible data. Republicans have bailed on Mike Johnson. His Speakership is in trouble, and there is a reason why @aftynbehn.bsky.social has made a +22 Trump district competitive. 3/

For reference: Trump's lowest approval rating in his first term was right after January 6th, at 34/62. He is as or nearly as unpopular now as he was when January 6th was fresh in people's minds.
Four polls in recent days now have Trump in the 30s, with 3 at 35%-36%: 2/
35%-62% (-27) ARG
35%-56% (-21) High Point University
36%-60% (-24) Gallup
38%-57% (-19) Econ/YouGov
Again, Trump just keeps dropping.

Two polls released today have Trump at 35% job approval, his lowest yet.
35%-62% ARG
35%-56% High Point University

Economist/YouGov track had him at 38%-57%, their lowest reading this year. He just keeps dropping.
