As someone who went into BR2047 *really* wanting to like it, and then got super jazzed for it after watching the first scene with Dave Bautista, the Leto scenes were where the "wait is this a bad movie?" thoughts started intruding

I actually think Leto is a good actor (while being an objectionable guy off screen) but ya he's really just not someone who audiences are gonna come out to the movies to see. E.g. The We work show was really good but part of that was that Leto was good for playing how annoying Neumann is

I don't really mind weird attempts to make Tron a thing every decade or 2. The thing that bothers me about this one is that big studios apparently still believe Jared Leto is a true A lost movie star who puts asses in seats.

He just isn't. He never has been but Disney and others all think he is.

I think ultimately the problem with TRON is conceptual. "What if you could go inside a computer and there was a whole little world in there" is just not an appealing idea for a movie which is why the series has failed despite stunning technical execution
