Any time you see “Grab Some Popcorn” in a headline that means the writer is too ignorant to have an actual position and indeed the Washington Post proves that three paragraphs in.

it is essential that every unionized newsroom gets a ban on this kind of insidious bullshit written into their contract
In a note to staff, Business Insider EIC Jamie Heller says the publication is launching a pilot program called Business Insider AI News Desk that will use AI to “help publish quick news stories.”

Several stories a day will now be “created by AI and edited by a person.”

Issues like anti-trans panic are not organic red state issues. They are engineered like viruses in a lab of bad faith politics, and the way to deal with bullies using them is to tell them to fuck off.

These are good moments to remember that the CEOs of all the biggest companies in America are happy to go to White House dinners and slap this guy’s back. They do not care about this. Remember this, years from now, when they want you to forget.
Trump: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."

This study implies, to me, that major businesses should simply underwrite the costs of local newspapers in their areas because they would probably make up the costs on higher IPO and stock prices.

This is a really interesting look at the knotty politics, economics, and communication challenges of climate policy, and also a good reminder that Joe Manchin has singlehandedly done more damage to America's future than any non-Republican human on the face of the Earth.
I spent months talking to many, many people for this long post-mortem of the Inflation Reduction Act: What forces were responsible for creating it, and how could it be gutted so unceremoniously? What might come next?

No easy answers ofc but hopefully a bit of clarity

Labor unions can recruit working class candidates in red states, run them as independents, fund them with money they now give to Democrats, and use union members as the core of their volunteer base. The numbers are more plausible than you think.

Independent, pro-worker, class warrior candidates can absolutely beat Republicans in red states if they are not tainted by the Democratic Party brand. The labor movement can make this happen systematically.

The Boston Globe identified the companies in Massachusetts that employ the most SNAP recipients. A key stat: "In Massachusetts, 74% of working-age recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program are employed, half of them full-time."
