Still don’t get Burry shorting Nvidia for the AI bubble when Oracle exists. OpenAI’s $1.4T commitments on $20B ARR is the real bubble indicator.

Oracle piling on debt to meet that demand is the logical bet against OpenAI actually coming up with the cash.

Netflix has built an extremely loyal brand. They’ve made a lot of seemingly customer hostile moves on paper

1. Ending password sharing
2. Introducing ads
3. Multiple price hikes

and yet have only grown their user base.

This is a testament to building a great product and excellent execution.

Most people hope there’s an AI bubble because if there isn’t then there will be decimation of white collar jobs.

That anxiety is higher now that it’s clear Trump will do nothing to regulate AI and fight state level regulations.

This is why it’s hard to have a discussion about AI online today.

Donald Trump has filed an executive order asking federal agencies to fight state AI laws including using tactics like withholding federal funding.

The AI boom is the only bright spot in the Trumpflation economy and he’s going fight tooth and nail to keep the bubble inflated.

“This is the beginning of true, untaxed competition in payments worldwide on iOS.” - Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic

The 9th Circuit ruled Apple can't charge its 30% tax on outside payments. However, the court implies Apple can still charge a "reasonable fee" based on actual security and privacy costs.
Apple loses its appeal of a scathing contempt ruling in iOS payments case
But Sweeney warns iOS devs are still afraid of “totally illegal” retaliation by Apple.

It looks like the only place you can still post a AI video of Deadpool and Mickey Mouse doing a drive-by on Snow White & the Seven Dwarves while Princess Leia dances in the background is Sora.

I guess we’ll find out if OpenAI’s license was an exclusive deal.

I’ve always thought artists were fighting a losing battle against Generative AI but it’s still startling to see Disney fold completely.

Signing a deal to use OpenAI tools in their work and licensing characters to be used in fan-made videos in Sora is a full-on embrace of generative AI. They folded.

Same day Disney announced a $1B investment in OpenAI and deal to put 200 Disney/Marvel/Star Wars characters into Sora, it also hit Google with a lawsuit claiming Gemini rips off Frozen, Lion King, Little Mermaid, Deadpool & more.

At this rate they’ll be paying Google $2B to use that IP in AI slop.🙃

Sam Altman is clearly an incredible deal maker.

That the outcome of Disney wanting to sue over its IP being used in Sora is that Disney will pay OpenAI $1 billion (an investment) and let them use 200 Disney, Marvel & Star Wars characters in AI slop videos is wild.

OpenAI’s Sora just made a deal with Disney. Over 200 Disney/Marvel/Pixar/Star Wars characters will be available to use in Sora videos. Disney will also use OpenAI APIs + ChatGPT at work and invest $1B in OpenAI.

In parallel, Disney just sent a cease & desist to Google for AI copyright infringement.

This is a great analysis of why conservatives feel persecuted for others simply existing or being acknowledged.

It’s fear their identity and choices will stop being mainstream or normal. That’s why they get upset at Happy Holidays (acknowledging other celebrations exist) versus Merry Christmas.
