People telling me that Trump didn’t forget he was the president on January 6th 2021, he’s trying to convince his followers he wasn’t.

Who could have guessed that the Biden administration signing a bipartisan law to get TikTok banned would lead to Barron Trump on its board and the company owned by a consortium including Larry Ellison & Rupert Murdoch?

Dude really forgot he was president on January 6th, 2021. We’re so cooked.

It’s hard to imagine anything more performative and pointless than protesting at Kamala Harris’ book tour.

This is the epitome of virtue signaling instead of actually trying to help a cause.

It's tough to take these arguments seriously from those building AI slop TikTok.

You can read the entire essay below

AI has many answers—but it can’t by itself build a new society.

Fukuyama debunks the AI abundance myth: we can't feed or clothe all not due to a lack of smarts, but priorities and resources.

The world simply can't sustain the abundant lifestyle AI proponents promise, lacking even the electricity to run the very AI they favor.

It sounds like all those scientists at the CDC that Russ Vought was bragging about laying off are now being asked to take their jobs back.

I guess studying and preventing the spread of contagious diseases isn’t “too woke” after all.

The corporate myth is that embracing AI will get you results that are cheap, fast and good with fewer employees.

The reality is a lot of companies will find out they got things done for a lot cheaper and a lot faster but if definitely wasn’t good.

On the one hand, it’s wild that Tesla’s full self driving mode doesn’t stop at train tracks but on the other hand who is trusting FSD to drive for them when there’s an oncoming train?

That’s incredibly bad judgment.

50x leverage means you can put in $1K, borrow $49K, and have $50K of crypto in your account. A 2% gain doubles your money. A 2% loss? You’re wiped out and your crypto is sold.

Setups like this is exactly why crypto tanked harder than stocks on the tariff news.

The scale of this week’s crypto crash is stunning. $16.6B in losses due to margin calls on 1.6M accounts averages to $10,000 lost per person betting on crypto always going up.

A lesson for many on the downside of borrowing money to gamble.

Had a conversation with my financial advisor this week and this meme came to mind after our discussion. Timely given the crypto market crash.

All assets crashed given the economic repercussions of a trade war with China. S&P 500 down -2.7% and NASDAQ down -3.5%.

However crypto has a lot of people who trade on margin (borrowed money) so when market goes down they have to sell further depressing prices. So crypto highs & lows are magnified

Interesting economy: Tariffs and other Trump policies drive cost-cutting. Companies lay off workers, then push AI to do more with less.

AI firms profit wildly. Investors bet on 10x growth replacing hires with AI. But limits exist. Maybe it’s 10x or maybe just 2x.

Also will AI help the laid off?

While there are many indications that AI is in a bubble, there are also signs of a real AI boom as well.

Microsoft is rationing customer access to AI services on Azure due to lack of data center capacity which they don’t expect to ease until 2026. There’s that much demand for AI from businesses.

Microsoft Corp.’s data-center crunch will continue for longer than the company has previously outlined, underscoring the software giant’s struggles to keep up with cloud demand.

1.6 million crypto traders had their positions liquidated after Trump announced 100% tariffs on China. There were $16.6B in losses from liquidated long positions which is 10x the amount from COVID and FTX related crashes.

Despite clamping down on generating videos of copyrighted and trademarked characters, OpenAI’s Sora is a viral hit. It’s still #1 in the U.S. App Store and reached 1 million downloads faster than ChatGPT.

Yet, I for one have found the content repetitive and banal.
