Editorial: Canada's Mark Carney warns that a belligerent, unconstrained United States under Trump has shattered the rules-based world order, forcing middle powers like Japan and Canada to act together to defend multilateralism.
Carney makes clear the world’s choice
Carney this week offered one of the most unblinking, if not scathing, assessments of the world order.

Democrats needing to message on affordability as the country endures a brutal authoritarian takeover is tragic. Take it from someone who lives in occupied Minneapolis. Our problems go deeper than prices.

Signs about the history of slavery in the U.S. and the 9 people George Washington enslaved are being removed right now at the President’s House Site in Philadelphia, across from Independence Hall, months after the Trump administration threatend to do so.

How far we have not come in 250 years.
I fear my tipping point into madness is "Thus is un-American" posts in response to ICE terrorizing immigrants. I beg you to open Wikipedia (I would say a book but let's start small) and read up on The Trail of Tears, Fugitive Slave Catchers, Japanese internment, Indian Boarding schools & Jim Crow

German Chancellor Merz:

We have entered a time of great power politics.

This new world of great powers is being built on power, on strength, and when it comes to it, on force. It's not a cozy place.

The worst thing is that americans are doing absolutely nothing against a whole thing

Yes,Minnesota has a protest because of that murder. But it's still nothing

When I write something here to americans, the majority of them always find a reason why they can't do anything-like they would quietly agree

The US is building concentration camps precisely like nazi germany did.
It does not have an extermination plan yet. I am sure some are thinking how to geg rid of the millions of interned people.
There are thousands of images of the ICE assault on America. This is one of many that should haunt every person who did anything along the way to get the country to this nightmarish point. We are killing moms, grabbing grandfathers, pepper spraying clergy & kidnapping children. Shame. Shame. Shame.

I think the biggest achievement of this week is that Europe has become more united.

Well we know military invasion AND trade sanctions are off. This is excellent in itself.

What outcome ? We know nothing about the "framework" (+ as you said, unstable and untrustworthy).

Yes.
Hopefully some financial experts / journalists check on what shares Trumps cronies bought when Dow was down and how much they will sell now it has made a big rise again, all thanks to the (yes!) OrangeUtang's whims.

Let's hope that the EU leaders won't interpret this as a sign that they can "handle" Trump and resume their favourite habit of pretending the US is an ally and friend, let's keep our head low until 2028 to "go back to normal" instead of ramping up the (costly) decoupling from the US.

I noticed that Trump and his people are talking differently if they're inside of USA or outside of USA.

So let's see when he will be back in USA.

Lots to celebrate tonight.

And as some say, Rutte might even deserve that nobel prize for having done very well an incredibly dirty job.

Yet the Orangegutan changes opinion every 48h hours.

Great outcome tonight. Lets hope it lasts beyond tomorrow or the week after.

🇺🇸🇺🇦 I understand that the winter is harsh. But if Ukraine survives this winter – January, February – and reaches March, April, the advantage will be on the side of Ukraine, not Russia, - Keith Kellogg

Mark Rutte has handed Donald Trump a piece of paper with ‘turn over to read our Greenland offer’ on both sides & that will occupy him for weeks
🇺🇦❗️ Rutte: Ukraine should be our number one priority. Then we can discuss all the other issues, including Greenland. It should be Ukraine first because it is crucial for our security.

🇺🇸🇪🇺 Rutte: Trump said that he was doubtful about whether Europeans would come to rescue if Article 5 were triggered.
Good diplomatic reasons for Europeans to try to appeal for calm and work it out behind the scenes with the US.

But just this morning Trump posted pictures of him putting the flag on Greenland, and presenting his conquests of Greenland and Canada to European leaders.

The damage which possibly derailed the train in Spain and caused the death of 39 people looks suspiciously similar to the damage caused in Poland near Ukraine two months ago.

Every time Trump breaks the clear letter of the law, the NYT and WaPo write a story about how he’s “pushing boundaries” or “testing the limits of his authority”

He's not Chuck Yeager, guys. He's a crook.
This is utterly deranged.
Multi-layered “look what you made me do” lie.

Because Norway didn’t give a him prize (it doesn’t decide winners) for ending wars (he didn’t end) the US won’t be peaceful anymore (bombing multiple countries) and will take Greenland (part of Denmark, not Norway) to stop Russia (it’d help Russia).
