The Kstovo refinery in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, experienced a large fire. Russian authorities try to downplay that incident, but circulating videos and NASA FIRMS are showing that the south eastern part of the facility is on fire.

The facility produces annually 17 million tons in oil products.

The Kirishi refinery is almost 800 km (500 miles) from the Ukrainian border. It produces annually around 20 million tons in oil products. September 14, 2025, it was already struck and lost almost half of its production capacity when one of its primary processing units was hit.
