A 13-year-old boy was arrested by ICE in Everett and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia.
A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Ghislaine Maxwell had a meeting with an unknown person in her new prison camp, during which the entire prison was on lockdown.

Inmates say she's getting unusually favorable treatment by the prison.

This is why the work of community watch groups is so important. It's not just capturing the faces of ICE agents, but also their vehicles. In Massachusetts we are already seeing them adapt and change their tactics in response to the work of community groups.

One of the things that I think the internal politics of ICE/CBP is probably grappling with and didn't quite get when all this kicked off is that the fact that the surveillance state could be turned back on the secret police in a way that makes it very hard for anything they do to be ignored.

Alex Thompson is one of the biggest scumbags in political news media and its wild to me that as many ppl on this site fall for his nakedly anti-Democratic ratucking shit as they do

Alex Thompson and Nate Cohn are big mad that the public has generally sided with Democrats during the shutdown rather than Republicans

Hilarious how mad the press is the shutdown isn’t hurting Dems so they are pivoting to shit on them anyway possible

Having billions of dollars really does seem to cause irreparable brain damage and I think the best thing a future Democratic administration can do for these ppl is to take as much of their money from them as possible

Yeah the problem is whether they think they can get away with it which they continue to indicate they dont think they actually can

A key line from Vance: "The problem here is not the Insurrection Act or whether we actually invoke it or not."

Trump knows he was president on Jan. 6. He’s simply lying to rewrite the history of his attempted coup.

Just like Trump knew he lost the 2020 election and lied to fraudulently subvert the results.

a key thing about vought — and all of these guys — is that they have a totally top down and hierarchical vision of the world. they believe that the cultural changes they hate can be turned off by destroying the federal government because they can’t imagine that they emerged bottom-up in society
thomaszimmer.bsky.social
What he’s railing against is a profound shift in culture, status… He’s obsessed with the idea that America is controlled by a leftist “ruling elite” - but “elite” isn’t defined socio-economically or by political power, it means something like: Getting to define “real America” and who gets to belong.
