💥Viktor Orbán in trouble: a new 21 Research Center (a reliable pollster) survey shows opposition leader Péter Magyar’s TISZA party leading Orbán’s Fidesz 53–35—an 18-point gap. Even the main govt-paid pollster (Nézőpont) admits to the @nytimes.com that smear campaigns against Magyar are failing.

It’s impossible to overstate how much “abolish ice” is the normie position now here in chicago — just countless random moms at toddler soccer on a park district field asking me where I bought my anti-ice t-shirt. average people don’t like our neighborhoods being terrorized.

A friend ran the Chicago marathon today and said he couldn’t count the number of FUCK ICE signs along the way.

“Highly organized.” That means some Chicago folks saw Portland videos online and said “That’s hilarious” and bought a $30 inflatable on Amazon.

IMHO, LLMs will be an economic negative for years.

They'll do a worse job than humans,

but will still replace humans because they're cheaper for employers,

but really they're costlier, it's just that lots of costs get externalized to society by our horrible energy/tax policies.

Lose-lose-lose.
The Real AI Risk is ‘Meh’ Technology That Takes Jobs and Annoys Us All
While AI doomsday scenarios dwell on the risks posed by superintelligent robot overlords, one Nobel-Prize winning economist fears a more mundane possibility.

Even the special effects look good, and it was made in 2001. There were only one or two places where the CGI looked not-great, but the scenes were quick, and the CGI was tiny, so it doesn't distract. Kudos to Peter Jackson for creating a true classic.

We discovered yesterday that the daughter's bestie (fondly referred to as Other Daughter) has never seen Lord of the Rings (?!?!?). So we watched it last night, because as a parent it's my job to see they're properly exposed to culture. That movie really holds up. Still so good.

I have fucking had it with the edgelord leftists who quote post my shit with incitements to violence, like I'm sorry either you're the fucking feds or you're somehow even dumber than they are.

the frogs & the wine moms are doing 100x the work y'all are by dooming and posting nonsense.

Like I know there are edgelord leftists out there who look down their noses at shit like No Kings but sorry you guys, the more mass protest looks fun and family-friendly, the bigger it gets and the better its chances of being broadly effective

Portland does not own the patent on inflatable animal costume protests, come on people

NYC, what’s our emblematic protest going to be? Pizza Rats? Giant pigeons?

For those not fluent in Catholic: refusing the Monstrance is not denying prisoners the Eucharist, it is refusing Christ himself, since Christ is present in the Monstrance.

If Portland’s blow up animals are the right language for Portland, this is the right language for Chicago.

Have mercy on the souls of those who know exactly what they are doing.”

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

I know Diane Keaton's chronological age, but she seemed timeless to me. It's hard to grasp that she's not here anymore.

I really recommend browsing a reddit called "Is this AI?" for this purpose. people post questionable images and commenters weigh in on their validity, but are required to provide specifics as to their reasoning. once you start seeing the signs, it gets easier and easier over time

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.
