A Democrat won ROSWELL?! …Roswell GEORGIA? Holy Shit.
Mary Robichaux, a former Democratic lawmaker, has won the mayor's office tonight in Roswell, Georgia, ousting a Republican incumbent.

This was one of a dozen elections that Bolts was tracking tonight in our guide that's now updated with results.
The 25 Elections to Watch This December - Bolts
On the heels of their sweeping wins in November, Democrats have opportunities to gain further ground in December runoffs and special elections. They’re hoping for upsets in conservative territory, from... Read More

I'm pretty sure what we're seeing is a succession of people reading the room and picking the next exit ramp they think they can make sound convincing or rationalize.

Some picked Epstein & more are going to pick war crimes, in spite of the fact neither is new for this admin.

But NEWSMAX?? lol damn
Woah. Newsmax’s legal analyst just said Pete Hegseth and everyone involved in the illegal boat strike should be “prosecuted for a war crime.”

They’ve even lost Newsmax on this one.

Evergreen. Just you know, tonight it is TN. 💃
We have got to learn from the GOP in this one thing. If they lose by a fraction less than they should have, they declare victory and double down. If we don't win everything the first time we try, we declare it impossible and give up.

KEEP FIGHTING FOR TEXAS
Texas is bluer RIGHT NOW than Georgia was in 2012. Forsaking the south is a moral and strategic mistake. Elevating disenfranchised voters across the country is one of the single most effective tools (with regard to electoral politics) we have for curbing the encroachment of fascism

So yeah, if you're represented by a Republican in a district that was carried by less than 20 points, tomorrow would be a good day to call and demand that the ACA subsidies continue.
The good news is Republicans in Congress are shitting their pants right about now

JUST IN: Democrats have flipped the mayor's office in Roswell, Georgia, in tonight's runoff.

GOP Mayor Kurt Wilson conceded earlier tonight to Mary Robichaux, the Dem challenging him.

(This is a city in the Atlanta suburbs, the 9th most populous city in Georgia.)

The singular city of Nashville falls into THREE districts. Not Nashville and suburbs, like they do to Memphis to dilute its votes, ACTUAL LITERAL DOWNTOWN STATE CAPITOL NASHVILLE, the courthouse is in TN-7 and the capitol building is in TN-5 and the registrar is in TN-6

Even if the GOP ekes out a win I am going to be so proud of all the people who made them fight for this, y'all are amazing. 💕💖💃
We have the early vote from 8 counties so far in #TN07, and the results are consistent with a big overperformance by Democrats... but as to how close the race will be, the major caveat is that the GOP tends to be stronger on Election Day votes.

I am wrapped in a blanket with my top bun slowly falling off my head, sipping a hot toddy and scrolling election results, a truly 2025 mood

Following along with all the tn people I can find because I believe in miracles and the power of our spite!!!
non tn/middle tn people watching the campaign: early returns from Perry County are likely and likely to go red, because Perry County is tiny, you need to see Davidson/Williamson/Montgomery results before you have a good idea of this.

Oh my god every time that I joke that Canada should burn it down again, I make bluesky *so angry*
I think on Bluesky the only argument you’ll going to get on this is whether the group who burned the White House should be called British or Canadian
Biding my time until the moment is right to get everyone on here mad about the War of 1812, which the United States lost. (mutes thread).

Every time I say there are 5 dollar generals closer to me than our grocery store people think I'm exaggerating, but I'm not. It's probably more like 8.
Those $300 yeti coolers and ford 350s erasing whole counties that dont have a grocwry store but got 6 dollar generals
I think we lost it in editing but I talked about that very thing. Real rural life is virtually invisible — no art for dollar stores and meth clinics. And its racial diversity is erased. Actual rural people, especially poor ones, cannot access its aesthetic power

HEY KIDS, WANNA WORKSHOP AN ASIAN CUCUMBER JAR SALAD WITH UNCLE KEVIN?

Most of these I’ve seen online are for huge cucumbers and intended for multiple folks, but what if it’s just you? Can we do a single serving for funsies? LET’S TRY.

We’ve been forced to watch so much violence since the original Sex and the City finished. It’s about time we got back to good old consensual fucking on our televisions. Now I just need full frontal titties to make a come back. Bridgerton gave us a morsel.
I’m watching #HeatedRivalry to prep for this week’s episode of VIBE CHECK and this is just soft core porn (complimentary). HBO is returning to its roots, baby!

yeah, the right thrives on sites where making people miserable is rewarded by the algorithm.
The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"
