Getting a lot of new followers because I went on a posting spree and got added to an Israel Watchers list. A lot of my posts are not about Israel - I'm a trans Israeli nerd and I post about all three of those things. Just a warning. Here's a meme. Watch Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Can I just say that I love how wholesomely stupid Channing Tatum is? I love the freaking guy. He’s calling in to talk about the Steelers but it’s about Kirsten Dunst.
"I never get nervous about working with people, but that's Kirsten Dunst bro," Tatum tells Vogue. "I knew I was gonna have to up my game because she's a beast. She doesn't have a single miss on her resume, it's all bangers."

I remember he did one of those actor round tables for Foxcatcher where he's in the room with all these other nominees and he's clearly going "I am not supposed to be here"

there was also his pretty legendary reaction to beating Ted as most successful r rated movie. I was gonna include a screenshot but it doesn't fit on my screen

Why @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, @chucktingle.bsky.social et al won't is clear: they THINK their reelection is locked up. They know the Americans who care don't have another option. And the second level leadership in the party is doing what they did with Biden: pretending nothing is wrong!

the more revealing thing about 10/7 wasn't that Hamas would do that, we knew they would act that way if they ever had Jews in their power.

it was how much of the world had clearly been waiting with baited breath for it and were actively upset when Israel didn't fall.

The other annoying thing was explaining to people that someone who says "hello fren" is a Nazi.

Eliezer Yudkowski's writings on literature aren't anything new or fresh - some of them are literally restatements of fundamentals of Greek tragedies. This because Yudkowski is a compsci guy (I think?) who has convinced himself he fully understands other fields as well as he does compsci.

For me the reason I dismiss it is that every big name associated with Rationalism is some sort of definition of "absolutely wild". I also find a lot of Rationalist observations are made by people who don't know the relevant field but assume they do because they're good at something else.

I've been crying a lot today. Just taking it in. I also have a bit of a headache.

Oh I love Dracula. Dumas goes on for too long. I didn't really connect to Wuthering Heights. I admire the hell out of Mary Shelley as a person and as a creative force, I wish I enjoyed Frankenstein.

I have what's probably the opposite of this and my gf hates it beyond words
A series of youtube thumbnails, all of which have Mr Beast superimposed on them. If you're reading this because you're blind, this is the point where you're lucky not to be able to see.

Some modernists were alright. F Scott Fitzgerald (probably more Zelda than him based on some accounts) did well, but that's because he dipped into the 19th century gay panic.

The trench poets were fantastic but virginia woolf should have been criminalized. The first good novels were all written by europeans either panicked about the existence of gay people or gay people panicked about having to hide it at the tail end of the 19th century.

I support book burnings if they're burnings of "To The Lighthouse".

Prose only got good 1890 and later. Poetry was briefly good when modernists were doing it but in turn prose got fucking awful around then too.

I'm not sure if it's just me but vibes have been much worse the last few days, but I'm also saying this and thinking "when are people not complaining about this"

I'm conflicted between "Joe Neguse is on a whole different level" and "There are a lot of great Dems, one of which is Joe Neguse" but in general, Joe Neguse is pretty amazing.

I feel like Dems only go to friendly places, they’re not gonna actually answer questions from someone off the cuff.

@neguse.house.gov definitely does, cause he has an event called “Congress on Your Corner” where he goes around his district and sets up a table and talks to constituents.

Grateful to everyone who came by on Friday to our “Congress on Your Corner” at CU-Boulder.

Whether on main streets, at bus stations and farmers markets, or on college campuses — the best part of my job is speaking directly with folks in Colorado’s 2nd District!

What is your favorite thing to blame the Dems for not doing? Maybe it will be in this post. If not, keep checking back, you might see it soon.
