Why is it that fucking Glass Onion keeps being one of the best movies about American politics?
Trump creates impunity by behaving criminally. But the more criminal he becomes, the worse the consequences if his criminality ever exceeds his impunity. It's a dynamic with an inherent risk of spectacular collapse - he has climbed very high and can therefore fall very, very hard.

I don't know how sizeable the demographic of "I don't care who I support I just want to punish the people who brought us to this" is but one Dem candidate has to try "make them pay" as a campaign slogan for 2027-8. See how far it takes them. At the very least they'll have my vote.

i do not expect to get a Cathartic Resolution to any of this; that's not what I'm saying here. but if there are not consequences for this shit I don't think we have a country any more, in purely PRACTICAL terms, and i will support ANY Democrat if they are willing to accomplish that

Among the many things I don't know how you reckon with in the post Trump world one of them is that there was a whole fucking conspiracy to unseat the president of the US and it succeeded.
I hope that this doesn't just become about "Nuzzi is bad" but fosters a wider recognition that our culture of political journalism that didn't just tolerate her, but promoted and celebrated her even after the allegations were known, is rotten to the core and has been for a long time.
this was bad before, but these are the most troubling and serious allegations you can make about a journalist. if they’re true, i genuinely can’t think of a worse scandal in the history of political journalism. devastating to our industry, to public trust as a whole, and to everyone in its orbit

More people should acknowledge the Stancil rule - a guy who's right sometimes and wrong sometimes and very belligerent about it is *not* the most hateful evil person alive and anyone who treats him as if he is is more deranged than Stancil could ever be.
