for those of you counting at home, that's $50M/day x more than 120 days, that DHS budget isn't going to last anywhere near as long as it was intended to
JUST IN: Judge Sooknanan has rejected DOJ's effort to dismiss a lawsuit brought by immigration detainees at Guanatanamo Bay, saying the plaintiffs made a plausible claim that the policy is illegal and punitive. ecf.dcd.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/show...

fwiw I think lethal robot infantry, if/when we get there, will be uniquely bad because it’s much easier to make them do things human soldiers won’t do consistently

when your 20 year old space company is valued at 800 billion dollars and you're still blowing out shares to keep the lights on (and pay employees), you don't have a real company. hth

this bubble popping will be spectacular
SpaceX is kicking off a secondary share sale that would value it at $800 billion, surpassing OpenAI as the most valuable U.S. private company.

there is this idea that we've accepted in modern liberalism that we have to accept all viewpoints and give them their permitted space to compete, and that nothing is truly evil, nothing can demand genuine punishment.

we are learning this is quite wrong.

It's almost impossible to make me feel sorry for Trump, but the sheer depth of his brokeness, combined with his age, the utter humiliation involved in this farce was making me legit sad.

I wrote this for the @nytimes.com: Scammers are calling seniors more than 50 times a day. Some who get scammed wind up with weird charges on their Medicare and mysterious packages on their porches

interesting take, might be right.
I think this is actually media *de*consolidation. Netflix won’t have to maintain deals with terrestrial cable providers and satellite operators, all of which are dying, that have come out of decades’ worth of consolidation. They just get to be HBO, of which Zaz-era WB has been a very poor steward

Financial dysmorphia is a thing.
My wife and I are from Boston but live in Pittsburgh. We always say, "we can't afford to live in Boston"

Then I fill out student financial aid and we are top 5% and seriously wtf is wrong with us. Lots of people with less live in Boston

do you think a lower court judge has ever taken a swing at alito at, like, a judge party. are there judge parties or are there just parties you invite a conservative judge to for the ruling you want
