Trump 2.0, above all else, is characterized by a syndrome in which the regime's leaders are compelled by their own character defects and/or crazed ideological beliefs to commit crimes that leave even deeply jaded, cynical partisans for their side aghast and concerned for their own wellbeing.
Shift from “there may be some classified or legal framework that could potentially be a viable excuse for the use of force if it won in court” to “oh this is the Ur war crime, like so clearly a war crime that there is no legal cover for this specific order”.

One by one, each of the nine prisoners appeared virtually before a special panel of the Louisiana parole board.

“Today you’ve been paroled,” the chair said at the end of every hearing, “to go straight into an ICE facility for deportation.”

Louisiana Made It Nearly Impossible to Get Parole. Now It’s Releasing Prisoners to Deport Them.
Gov. Jeff Landry eliminated parole for prisoners arrested after Aug. 1, 2024, and tightened eligibility rules for those already in prison. Then he set all of that aside for one group: undocumented imm...

Also, Aquaman annoyed with all the prime real estate he’s not getting good prices on
Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.

Don't look up!

They also keep trying to end-runs around confirmation procedures with deputies and temporary appointments. I don’t have a list but I feel like we’ve seen a lot of that in Justice
I think there's a really important reason Trump hasn't fired anyone yet (despite people like Kash making him look like an idiot), and it's because his team knows they can't get chosen replacements through the senate anymore.

This is all true but

1) under no definition are we currently at war with Venezuela under domestic US law

2) since we aren’t, the initial strike was just as much a murder as the follow up

The failure to understand this by a huge range of actors is really driving me up the wall.
If the Venezuelan sailors were enemy combatants, then the 2nd strike is a war crime.

If the Venezuelan sailors weren’t enemy combatants, then both strikes are criminal murder.

It’s that simple.

Translation: Pete may well go down for this. But I’m not going with him.
Reporter: If there were a second strike that killed wounded people, would that be legal?

Trump: I don’t know that happened and Pete said he did not even know what people were talking about. I wouldn’t have wanted a second strike. The first strike was very lethal. It was fine.

I would love if, in addition to limiting material wealth at the upper margins, Democrats could point out that the desire to accumulate more wealth than one can possibly spend is not success, but antisocial behavior.
It is *lunacy* for the ostensibly liberal opposition party to say we shouldn't limit any individual's wealth and power after watching a cadre of fascist billionaires systematically destroy this country. That's probably the single most important thing we *must* do!

“Strong floor, no ceiling” is absolutely the type of slogan that a focus group of swing voters will tell you they find appealing after it has been a whole hour and they just want to go home.

It’s a slogan for people convinced this country *really* wants a Mike Bloomberg presidential campaign.
