Due to Tennessee’s abortion ban, Mayron Hollis was forced to continue a pregnancy that threatened her life. An emergency delivery left her without a uterus and her baby with medical issues.

This was their first year in a post-Roe state (pub. Feb. 2024):
She Was Denied an Abortion After Roe Fell. This Is a Year in Her Family’s Life.
Tennessee law prohibits women from having abortions in nearly all circumstances. But once the babies are here, the state provides little help. We followed one family as they struggled to make it.

Just think it’s a good idea to do this with EMPTY prescription bottles, when you are finished with them. Might want to clarify that. People should have their names on what they are currently taking.
propublica.org
That's a good point, thank you. Would you mind if we add your reply to the end of our thread?
propublica.org
At this time, we're casting a wide net and any prescription bottle would be helpful to us. Thanks for the question!

Right now we're looking for all meds!

Step 2: Take a photo of your label that shows all the information, including drug name, dosage, anything you see about the manufacturer and NDC number, if included.

This might require multiple photos.

Step 1: Find a drug label and black out your name, contact info and RX number.

You can use a black marker, or you can take a photo first and use your phone’s marking tools.

Jorge Ruiz’s blood alcohol level was far below the legal threshold for intoxication.

When his lawyers looked at similar car crash cases, they found that although Ruiz had the lowest amount of alcohol in his system, his sentence was by far the longest.

➡️ Full story: https://propub.li/3KDEql5
Article excerpt reads: Then it was Ruiz’s turn. He spoke for the first time in court.

“I want to say that I am sorry to the family,” Ruiz said. “I wouldn’t have wished for this to happen. I wish that this would have only been a dream.”

Lewis peered down from the bench at Ruiz.

“This is America,” Lewis said. “It’s the greatest country in the world and we have the right to trial in this country. I would never penalize you for exercising that right, but Mr. Lively talked about acceptance of responsibility, contrition, remorse. I haven’t seen any of that from you.”

He sentenced Ruiz to the maximum possible punishment, longer even than the 50 years requested by prosecutors: 99 years.

The court went quiet. Even the prosecutor was shocked.

Years later, Robinson remembered that moment. “That was not something that I had expected,” he said.
