No country grows stronger when its foreign policy is shaped by ego instead of principle.

A “peace board” where nations must pay $1B for a seat isn’t diplomacy — it’s extortion dressed up as foreign policy. Turning global stability into a pay‑to‑play scheme is reckless, corrupt, and dangerous.

The Trump administration wants nations to pay $1 billion to stay on his peace board, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday, citing a draft charter.

If you weaponize the DOJ to intimidate elected officials, that’s not “politics.” It’s a federal crime. Retaliatory investigations violate civil‑rights and obstruction laws. Anyone turning law enforcement into a threat is advertising their own liability.

Donald Trump didn’t just meet with Tucker Carlson this week — he met with him twice, right after Carlson gave a Holocaust‑denying white nationalist a two‑hour, unchallenged platform. That’s not coincidence. It’s endorsement.

Donald Trump pardoned the “Camp Auschwitz” rioter, hosted a Holocaust‑denying white nationalist for dinner, and declared that “any Jewish person that votes for Democrats hates their religion.” That’s not a coincidence. It’s a culture. My latest essay explores the dangerous mainstreaming of extremism

You can’t fight antisemitism while validating Holocaust deniers, gutting civil‑rights enforcement, and excusing open hatred inside your own movement. My new piece traces how the Trump administration is mainstreaming hate — not by accident, but by design.

We’re watching a dangerous shift: rhetoric once considered fringe is now treated as acceptable political strategy. I wrote about how we got here — and what’s at stake.

Once protest is labeled “insurrection,” the next step is labeling dissenters as enemies. That’s the slope we’re on. The Insurrection Act was meant for genuine emergencies—not for a president eager to silence anyone who refuses to fall in line.

When career prosecutors resign because they’re being pushed to investigate a grieving widow instead of a federal agent who killed an unarmed woman, that’s not “law and order.” That’s a warning sign.

The world is watching Iran. Thousands killed. Thousands detained. And still, people march — for dignity, for survival, for a future they can recognize. Their courage demands more than silence.

It really is staggering to see so many people willing to toss aside our 249 year experiment in democracy for an increasingly erratic, visibly unraveling, criminally convicted reality show charlatan. And yet, here we are.

Enough delay. Release the remaining Epstein files. A functioning democracy doesn’t hide the truth.

Beth Israel survived the Klan in 1967. It will survive this too.

But the fact that it has to is the problem.

A suspect has been arrested after a fire tore through Beth Israel, the only synagogue in Jackson, Mississippi, on Saturday, leaving the congregation forced to rebuild from the ashes — again.

I filmed this backstage at a Dead & Company show, not long after the Parkland shooting. Bob Weir had asked to meet a group of student survivors — and the care, time, and respect he showed them was unforgettable. He always showed up to inspire the next generation. Fare thee well to a true legend.

I’ve spent my career studying how regimes justify the unjustifiable. So when a civilian driver is labeled a “domestic terrorist,” I know what that language is doing — building a permission structure for violence. Minneapolis isn’t just a tragedy. It’s a warning. I break it down in my new essay.

This has been a hard and unsettling week. Take a moment to check in on the people around you. You never know whose day you might help carry.
January 10, 2026 at 2:47 PM
A president claims his “own morality” is the only check on his power. The U.S. arrests a foreign leader. And somehow, neither of those is the biggest story of the week. This isn't just a news cycle; it’s a constitutional freefall.

Renee Good deserved better. Her family deserved better. Her state deserved better. And our democracy deserves better than a government that treats truth as an inconvenience and accountability as optional.

Every democracy slides the same way: abuse of power, denial of facts, and a public asked to look away.

This moment demands attention — and accountability.

A federal agent killed a U.S. citizen on camera. The government seized the evidence. And now they’re telling us not to believe what we saw.

A federal agent killed a U.S. citizen in a state that never asked for federal involvement — and now the federal government is blocking that state from investigating the killing.

That isn’t federalism.

That isn’t public safety.

That is occupation.
January 8, 2026 at 9:01 PM
A U.S. citizen was shot at point-blank range on a public street. Now, federal agents are barricading the scene and blocking local authorities from doing their jobs. This is not how a democracy functions—it is how a police state operates. Renee Good deserves justice, not a federal cover-up.
