600 ICE agents were supposed to be deployed to Canal Street. Hundreds of New Yorkers gathered instead.

When we link arms and say NO, we stop fascism in its tracks.

See @taliajane.bsky.social's earlier posts for details on ICE melting in NYC.
Confirmed: Earlier this morning a photog overheard agents inside the parking garage say “dismissed,” believed to be calling off their planned mass raid.

A source tells me they had planned for *hundreds* of agents to flood Canal St. They got flooded instead.

You can't realistically have universal basic income in a society that tolerates the existence of the gambling lobby. For UBI to prosper, the gambling industry has to be smashed.

My kid was telling me about one of their flat-mates who is American, and from a part of the East coast with a lot of money. My kid said, "He will say the most old money things and it is ridiculous." They put together Thanksgiving dinner together with another fellow American.

Listening to the Nutcracker suite, decades later I can physically still feel the choreography that would go with different parts of the music. I think if I get to be 95 I will still remember if, even if I can remember nothing else.

Hey, if your library has Kanopy (we just accessed it last night for the first time, holy molee, it's like the Criterion Collection in there, SO many excellent and classic films), they've got James Goldman's Christmas classic THE LION IN WINTER, which is essentially SUCCESSION, at Christmas, in 1187

The new @pattonoswalt.bsky.social album is a god damn delight to listen to. I cackled as I was reorganizing my china and porcelain knicknacks. Because apparently I am now an 85 year old grand dame. I needed those laughs this morning.

I saw this photo from an old family friend. It was of her little granddaughter holding a turkey leg and munching away. I love the caption because it said, "Don't tell this baby to take dainty bites".
I appreciate a grandma who doesn't lay food issues or "act like a lady" stuff on kids.
