This is exactly why I say wearing a mask is an act of resistance.

They want us sick.

They want us weak.

They want many of us dead.

Get your vaccines if able, but adding a high quality respirator like an N95 can prevent many airborne contagions.

Once again, the move fast and break things strategy backfires as the regime has to reverse a number of layoffs.

They’re testing us.

They make horribly bad and dangerous decisions and wait to see how much public outcry there is.

If it’s a lot, they change course.

That alone is cruel and unusual punishment.

You finally manage to secure your freedom, only to have ICE immediately grab you and send you to a detention centre.

People need to stop the thinking that’s like “well when things get back to normal we’ll do this.” Remember how we said that about COVID years ago & we’re still in a pandemic? The United States is not coming back to glory & that shouldn’t be the goal. But WE can try to survive if we get together.

Another devastating blow for the disability community as this administration cuts almost every employee responsible for administering funding & oversight for IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

Education should be a basic human right..and disabled kids are just as deserving.

School can be challenging for kids with disabilities.

There’s ableism, discrimination and bullying.

Chronically ill kids are just learning what their “normal” looks like, and they need and deserve the support to adapt.

These cuts are going to harm kids in the poorest (and reddest) areas the most

The end of federal enforcement of special ed laws. Some states - including MN - will likely be ok. But a lot of disabled kids in a lot of states are going to lose the education that federal law and decades of jurisprudence say they are owed.

Many have died preventable deaths.

Two disabled people are currently being detained and denied all reasonable accommodations.

It’s eugenics. It’s cruelty for cruelty’s sake.

Disabled People are Being Mistreated in ICE Detention Facilities

Why is no one talking about it? Where's the media? Where's the public outcry? Another example of the pervasive nature of ableism and how society views disabled people as expendable.
