Zero arrests by NYPD is actually astounding to me

The reason why I get so furious at the people who use "Soviet" and "Russian" interchangeably is because there were a lot of non-Russian Soviets who fought in the Red Army and the Russian Federation wants you to think they're all Russians

It has by far the best gameplay of the trilogy, certainly! I just wish it didn't do everything it could to minimize player exposure to that gameplay.

I continue to maintain that the EA-mandated multiplayer mode was ME3's saving grace until a bunch of the campaign DLC packs came out and shored up the main game.

The writers barely even pretend that the whole series doesn't run on the player character being Built Different. Bioware games tend to be like that, in general, but Mass Effect laid it on thicker than any of them except Jade Empire.

DA2, at least, is presented as a retrospective narrative in which Varric is interrogated about the protagonist's involvement in the calamity that engulfed Kirkwall - you can't prevent the really bad stuff because it already happened.

A lot of the narrative and tonal shifts post-ME1 was Bioware getting overtaken in the Whedoning, but that ME3 ending was pure "let's do a Battlestar Galactica"
