Also they're just sick. They're killing people and whether you think it's justified or not (obviously it's not) that should mean something. Instead they're running around laughing like an axe murderer in some terrible horror movie. Completely broken people
There is absolutely no bottom. They will kill and murder and steal and break the law and laugh at every rule and institution until they are stopped. They think they are all-powerful and all conventional rules of morality and legality do not apply to them.

So trump "declared" Venezuelan airspace closed and then basically nothing has happened (knock on wood) right? Very weird imho

I'm always saying this
Every time I see these BS answers, I can't help but think of Sthenelaidas' retort to the Athenians in Thuc. 1, "The long speech of the Athenians I do not pretend to understand. They said a good deal in praise of themselves, but nowhere denied that they are injuring our allies and the Peloponnese."
KARL: Did you know about the judge's order when you issued your order for the planes to continue?

KRISTI NOEM: This is an activist judge. We comply with all federal orders that are lawful and binding.

imo if you want to get back in power your slogan should be "If you elect us we will prosecute everyone in government who has violated the law"

So creepy how the Trump supporters he victimizes turn into westworld robots when they have to name who's harming them. The more direct and unambiguous the harm, the wilder the programming goes swapping in anything other than "this is trump's fault"
A new post by a Republican state Senator in Indiana, saying she will "not cave" on redistricting as she shares that she was just the target of a pipe bomb threat to due "DC political pundits."

When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

So even in the guardian we're not saying "the president does not have the legal authority to do this [suspend the entire asylum process]" because it's just accepted that most of the things he says and does are totally lawless and we just have to live with it

Northwestern and Columbia being famous for journalism and bending over for Trump seems a little too on the nose these days
This is the second largest payout from a private university to the Trump admin yet, second only to Columbia’s $200m

Really what we need to reckon with is what we're going to do after trump pardons everyone involved in everything
Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

it's more of a materialist vision: you work m-f in the ufc sports gambling factory. drive your monster truck back to the exurbs where your trad wife and kids that you hate are waiting & tell them shut up about the pokemon. sunday you go to a weird church where they say the pope is woke
i mean what are these "western values" these guys are so hopped up about? they are directly antagonistic to western europe. they don't believe in civil liberties. they reject democracy. and don't get me started on christianity, they hate their white neighbors almost as much as the brown ones

One time the orioles got their asses kicked by the royals possibly because instead of staying ready to play they spent an extended rain delay racing crabs in the tunnel to determine their fantasy football draft order

All my friends and family just constantly believe ai stuff is real and send it to me with zero skepticism but then if I try to send or tell them anything absolutely real they'll be like "well everything's ai these days, how can you be sure" it is driving me insane
sorta coming around to the view that the social danger of genAI images is less that they'll make people believe fabricated things are real and more that they'll make people believe real things are fabricated

this is a bluesky bubble opinion. 800M+ people use chatgpt every week. I hate Facebook and Instagram and I wish they didn’t exist, but 3B and 2B people use them every month, respectively. it’s very hard to picture a mass or even a niche left backlash against them
i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills
Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

I remember seeing a story years ago where a prison cook was caught having stolen $1.2 million of fajitas over 9 years.

One week he took off sick, someone else answered the order call and was like "what are you talking about? We don't serve fajitas."

Gilberto Escamilla had stolen more than $1.2 million worth of fajitas over the course of approximately nine years.
