As an enlightened centrist, respected by both sides, my position here is that Mamdani is quite obviously an incredible political talent but Spanberger’s win in VA is equally impressive, and neither race is particularly generalizable beyond the tautological “run a good candidate for the race”
Also, when you say people saying "Dems would win everywhere with a Mamdani-style platform," I think it's important to remember that that platform delivered the most charismatic candidate in recent history a whopping 50.4% of the vote against a street vigilante and actual vampire, in New York City

This is fine as a legal argument in formal terms but some questions you might ask yourself in writing a brief is “what are the odds this is the argument that does it” (essentially zero here) and “what are the odds this argument makes the judge or the public mad at me” (much higher!)
