My mom and my aunts sewed a panel for my uncle when he died. I've had the chance to see parts of the quilt in person, the most recently was in Toronto in 2006, and it is such a beautiful tribute, seeing the art and love that surrounded each person, which is what also makes it so devastating.

"This is not a serious person" is a line I'd like to see Democrats employ more.
Kelly: He runs around on stage talking about lethality and the warrior ethos.. That’s not the message that should be coming from the Secretary of Defense… He runs around on a stage like he’s a 12 year old playing army. It’s embarrassing.

It’s not as if there’s big money in bike parking, so normal Eric Adams corruption can’t be the answer. My money is on what I’d call the “sour grapes theory,” defined below.
"Randy Mastro felt he had to do something but didn't want to do a single thing to validate anyone loosely associated with Transportation Alternatives" may be the Occam's Razor explanation here, eh?

How a homegrown company that’s been at it for so long. didn’t even get considered is beyond me. Oonee is doing great work just across the river in Jersey City and it’s a shame the Adams admin excluded the company. Eric Adams was even an early booster!
Today was the hardest day of my life. We fought for nearly a decade to bring secure bike parking to NYC and ultimately were completely excluded from the @nyc-dot.bsky.social process for citywide system. To those who believed in us and our vision, I am so sorry.

So much fun to talk to Sammy, one of the best climate reporters on the beat. And I love this line: “But Gordon isn’t an ideological purist. He’s a jovial guy from Brooklyn trying to prod society in a better direction.” Might be my new social media bio.

I'm convinced that stories like this help the movement. Regular Post readers already hate anything that inconveniences drivers, and this won't change their minds. Meanwhile, normal folks see this, share it and, after even a second of thought, think it's ridiculous to be against safer streets.

Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.
