The simple answer is that we rebuild the federal bureaucracy from close to scratch, after purging every single person brought in under MAGA hiring rules.

Perfectly possible, happened before. Would still suck along the way, but we'd get back to having an effective govt.

This is more or less what I'm expecting. The mandate to do whatever it takes to rebuild is gonna come from Trump totally wrecking the US government and breaking his own legitimacy through an attempt to rule by force.

Ppl will be desperate for a return to legitimate government, even at a high price.

The sheer scale of Trump’s fuckups are going to harm so many people that whatever Democrat is sent to clean this up is going to enjoy a mandate that is not comparable to anything since Reconstruction.
