My buddy's 15 year DnD group is imploding because a couple of the long time players are defending the ICE murders and everyone else is appalled. This is a red line for normal people in a "get the fuck out and never talk to me again" way. The evil and injustice is instantly recognizable.

I think (or at least this is true for me) that ICE is a sort of shorthand for USCIS/ICE/CBP/etc., basically "the goons who take people", or maybe "that complex of agencies descendent from INS"

I think the simple, most correct response to this is “Aww you’re upset about being cancelled for supporting ICE? ICE is cancelling the lives of innocent Americans in broad daylight. Executing them. Bullets to the head. Shut the fuck up and reevaluate your life.”
This will be howled over as "cancel culture," but we're not talking about people who insist on their right to say "retard" and can't bear being told not to pat a woman on the ass.

Seems that “abolish ICE” or, really, any political reference to ICE as a concept captures both ICE and CBP in one swoop, which may become a problem when it’s time to develop abolition policy, but in the meantime is a convenient rhetorical device.
All the focus is on abolish ICE but CBP seems honestly the worse of the two. Bovino, today’s shooting, and Ross was former CBP.

Gonna drop this in here like a Friday night bad news dump, but we’re nearly 6 weeks post-op and my headaches are as bad as ever. Again, this isn’t quite evidence the surgery failed, but let’s say I’m not super optimistic right now.
Appointment with the surgeon Thursday. I’ll know more then.
