There is a quote from an Issac Asimov story where he talks about a "primitive" robot that can do anything except talk---which is ironic, because it turns out that talking is the easiest thing to program. Anybody remember what this is from, or know what I'm talking about?

This was important because of endemic inbreeding among the local breeds. This was very successful in revitalizing the pig industry in Hong Kong, and led to the local joke among farmers: "The Kadoories know everything about pork except how it tastes".

When the Kadoories relocated to Hong Kong from Shanghai in 1949, one of their big projects was the Agricultural Aid Association, which worked with small farmers in the New Territories to improve their yields and livelihoods. One of their initiatives was importing new strains of Australian pigs.

Ah fuck, I've been waiting for some news coverage of this all day. This was a fucking insane thing to witness, and it sounds like it was even worse than it looked at the time. No idea how the fuck the driver managed to fuck up that badly, and I really hope the kid's OK. 💜
