I agree with this. It used to be that you could count on any old person to love children, but these days half the Boomers aren't on speaking terms with their kids and so are acting like old childless Germans when one fusses.

This station was really well designed, I walked out the front door and got a nighttime view of the Capital dome that made me think "I should stop and take a photo" for about a picosecond before my fatigue shoved that thought into a locker.

Got in to Washington Union Station a little past eight, and from what I could see the siege has been lifted, I didn't see any National Guard or any uniformed LEO or armed services personnel.

Of course, it was raining and I was making a beeline for my hotel and not stopping to sight see.
