A retired Minneapolis couple who had guns pointed at them by ICE in a church parking lot.

"They were obviously not trained at all. I've known many police officers in my life. These people were right off the streets."

"They had the professional demeanor of criminals."

Relief printmaking was traditionally a form of protest art. I'm a linocut artist, and I protest. So here are two linocut resistance posters for Minnesota (a loon, the state bird, and an eagle)--if anyone wants high-res images to use, just DM me. Feel free to use them.

Congratulations!
in Hungary do they have masked agents of the state gunning down civilians in the street? I feel like we need to dial up our authoritarian regime comparisons quite a bit from where they were a year ago
Trump: "With that being said, you can't have guns. You can't walk in with guns. You just can't. You can't walk in with guns. You can't do that. But it's just a very unfortunate incident."

"House Democrats should get themselves to Minneapolis. Immediately. They should be on the street themselves, cameras out and recording, observing and putting their bodies on the line."

The stakes in Minneapolis are higher than even the participants may realize.

Walz: What side do you want to be on? The side of an all powerful federal government that can kill, injure, menace and kidnap its citizens off the streets or on the side of a nurse at the V.A. who died bearing witness to such government
You have to read this. Firsthand affidavit from one of the women who was there and recording the video. She talks about how Alex Pretti was directing traffic when she arrived. She watched him be killed in front of her. She's afraid to go home, worried she'll be arrested.
Kare 11 local news just read, in full, this statement from Michael and Susan Pretti, the parents of Alex Pretti.

"Please get the truth out about our son."

Lovely--but alas, a gated article before the end.

A woman, with a book to hand for that moment of leisure, after my own heart!

I taught climate history for 2 decades at midwestern public universities. I always included a few slides and discussion of her work. Not a single uni student had ever learned of her. Glad that you're spreading the word!

Love this!

Here comes Pernille! She's a bad ass and will handle the kidnappers with one hand tied behind her back.

If you see this, post your bird art.

A Mexican jay in a silver-leaf oak. Mexican jays are always yakking about in the oaks here in the Chiricahuas. Multi-block print plus 4 color reduction for the jay.

Pencil sketches of Mexican jays for tomorrow's linocut (only 10 more days of this residency, alas! There are so many things to carve in the high desert).

Hot pink Javelina in the Chiricahuas. They are goofballs! #printsky #linocut #reliefprintmaking #javelinas
