One sided cease fire…
Israel said it killed a top Hamas commander in Gaza, in what would be the highest-profile killing of a Hamas leader since the cease-fire began two months ago.

Nah, some people know they can make more money from writing such nonsense.

This article is journalism malpractice. Reporting on Trump’s mafia style unconstitutional threats to defund the state as normal political “pressure campaign”.

I’ve been through a lot worse than anything Donald Trump or Pete Hegseth can throw at me. And I'm not backing down, because this isn't about me — it's about you and every American's First Amendment right.

This project began in a "let's catch up" lunch meeting at APSA several years back.

We did not realize at the time how hard it would be to collect the data necessary to answer a simple RQ: Does publishing disaggregated electoral results deter voting aggregation fraud?

this makes clear that "we are at war with narco terrorist" is a spectacle, a charade, a simulacra of an anti-drug policy.

Yeah; not those guys. Not the traffickers; just the low ranked movers and dealers.

That’s one way to describe ISF air strikes that targeted tent area for displaced people in Gaza, which killed two kids.
Trump on Gaza: "They had a problem today with a bomb that went off. Hurt some people pretty badly, probably killed some people. Just happened. But we have peace in the Middle East. People don't realize it."

It’s pretty clear that much like Duterte, Trump believes that drug dealing is punishable by death.
Q: If it's found that survivors were actually killed while clinging onto that boat, should Sec. Hegseth, Admiral Bradley, or others be punished?

TRUMP: I think you're gonna find that this is war. That these people were killing our people by the millions, actually.

🚨New publication🚨

We examine how External Advisory Committees (EACs) can help researchers navigate tough ethical challenges that arise in impact evaluations. We hope it adds to discussions on what institutional safeguards for ethical impact evaluations should look like www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

We tried to implment this logic. We had prompts that measured "explict" and "implicit causal claims". But, we failed to measure these well: we were not convinced of GPT's classification after manual validation. We might give this another try, since this is so central to the question at hand.

Tom - thanks for discussing our paper thoughtfully. We 100% agree that a big part of the CR is that we should be more careful of using a cusal langauge when we have research design that allows us to do so, and use for example, a descptive langauge (correlation, associations) when we don't.

Ben - thanks. This is a first draft that has not been submitted and is awaiting comments. We already realize we need to (a) explain better the problems associated with over-reliance on survey experiments, and (b) tone down the CR cheerleading. Thanks again!

There's no "fog of war" when there's no war.

I am going to humbly† suggest you spend two hours today reading this new paper, which should now be required reading for everyone, and our "Good Description" paper together.

Thanks for the shout out Tom!

Indeed we wrote a purely descriptive correlational paper on the credibility revolution. We hope you find it interesting.
One observation about this interesting new paper on the credibility revolution in political science journal articles is that all (?) of its interesting findings are correlational, not causal
