Here is a slightly revised, and much prettier, version of my new working paper on the impact of walking distance on first year student performance. To our knowledge, this is the first study to measure this effect, which proved significant and surprisingly large.

I suspect, and devoutly hope, that many of these people will be prosecuted when the Democrats take power again. Doing this to people who are exactly following the law is surely a violation of law.

A Democratic-led House will have a cornucopia of opportunities to investigate this administration. The problem will be too many leads and not enough time/staff to do it all.

This is another example of how this corrupt administration helps friendly corporations profit from products that disproportionately harm lower-income Americans. The premium for organic foods effectively shuts out working class families from many healthy foods.

More White Sands, NM ...

Proud to be on this list!

The FBI agents who interview them should feel rather like the shirriffs that Merry Brandybuck told off in The Scouring of the Shire ...

There once was a man named Jair

He plotted a coup

Too many people have been watching reruns of Star Trek Next Gen and all the episodes that validated Data's sentience.

I'm more worried about Hal.

Dumbest White House spox ever. And that's saying a lot.

I'm sure there is a spot for her on Fox after her downfall.

Not only is he an idiot, a boor, and a drunkard, but he doesn’t even understand how a mirror image works.

What can I say, Michelin got it right. Dalessandro's FTW! 👍😀

Ever seen Al Franken draw a map? Now that’s talent! 😉

I was there in 1988 (on my honeymoon) as Kilauea was doing its thing. We wandered out to where lava was pouring into the ocean. Quite spectacular. Then we went to Kalapana to have lunch by its amazing black sand beach. Two years later Kilauea ate the town ... and the beach.

At what point will Europe and Ukraine stop taking the bait. They continue to play along and talk about revising the draft. Simply don’t play. Refuse it and lay out your own clear vision. Be prepared to go alone and re-militarize. The US simply isn’t dependable.

How did the javelina fare? Inquiring minds...

I just discovered you're a W&M grad from 1991. I started teaching there in 1989. As an English major you would have been unlikely to have graced one of my advanced economics classes. 😉

Need a concerted assault by large numbers of drones, followed by a good stash of flamingo, cruise missiles. Decapitate the grid around Moscow in one blow.

Dimwitted indeed.

I prefer the idea of giving Florida to Russia while allowing Ukraine back into Zaporizhzhia and Crimea, and, oh, let’s throw Mariupol in for good luck. I’m sure Vlad would go for it. Giving him Florida would safeguard Cuba. 😏

Suggests that dear Elon is a comrade of sorts. Such a surprise.

More like a useful idiot.

2/ By the way, Hochul is exactly right about Stefanik. Stefanik is a totally amoral person. She is repugnant to me. I find her truly disgusting.

In recent days I have noticed political "leaders" embracing F bombs and shit in their normal vocabulary. We all think these things, and many of us use them occasionally in social media. What we're now seeing is the social media takeover of national discourse. Walter Cronkite is well and truly dead.

Yes, RFK lied to him, but Cassidy was a willing recipient of the lies. He is just another Republican in thrall (no spine/gonads) to the MAGA know-nothings. Even in this weaselly answer he didn't acknowledge that RFK lied to him or that he bore any responsibility for what is transpiring at HHS.

Please distribute this to every Cuban in south Florida. Almost sixty-eight percent of Miami-Dade Cuban voters pulled the lever for this.

3/ have to think about it too much?

This is fertile territory for investigative journalists to join ICE to try to get into the ICE psyche. Journalists have done this before. It's ethically difficult, of course.

2/ ... rationalize participating in these clearly racist actions? I doubt many are believers like their white "colleagues." Are they concentration camp Kapos, wielding power over their fellow victims? Are they just earning a living themselves and compartmentalizing their actions so that they don't

White ICE members may be "believers" in the Trump bullshit "mission" of taking out undesirable "lawbreakers," though it's hard to comprehend how they can violently wrestle down a simple restaurant worker eking out a living while maintaining that garbage belief. But how do black and brown ICE workers

Telling people that their feelings and experiences are wrong usually makes them angry. It may make the political spinmeister feel like they're doing something to counter a developing narrative, but denying what people see all around them has always been a losing strategy.
