Pro tip during inversions in northern Utah: the UtahAir app gives you access to high quality sensors, and you can see the reading of the sensor closest to where you are. The map below shows that PM 2.5 pollution is worse at lower elevations

The biggest source of pollution during the inversion is the transportation sector, especially cars. The refinery doesn't help, but it's a small fraction
