This is extremely bad and worrisome for obvious reasons, but it's worth pointing out that this was obviously the student's goal

She knowingly wrote a garbage essay for her trans prof's class and when she obviously got a terrible grade stirred up a media storm

This was clearly the intended outcome

One sign that your brain is super good is when your doctors keep giving you cognitive tests
Reporter: Governor Walz called for the release of your MRI results

Trump: They were perfect like my phone call where I got impeached.

Reporter: Can you tell us what they were looking at?

Trump: I have no idea. It was just an MRI. It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and aced it.

If the Venezuelan sailors were enemy combatants, then the 2nd strike is a war crime.

If the Venezuelan sailors weren’t enemy combatants, then both strikes are criminal murder.

It’s that simple.

I knew it was going to be a grad student or an adjunct. And because grad students and adjuncts are cheap and easy to replace, they're the front line in the student-as-customer model of higher ed. Unhappy customer? Sacrifice a lowly TA or adjunct, problem solved.

Unions now. Unions forever.

Part of literacy being hard right now is ..

Everyone ignores that literacy involves trust and folks spent years being sarcastic , gaslighting assholes

Who told people they weren’t seeing what they saw and were stupid for “reading into things”

Meanwhile the racism was absolutely there

I need to sell 28 more of these before Christmas if I want to break even on the design. We're over half way there so fingers-crossed that new people keep wanting them!
I really wasn't exaggerating when I said my Christmas tree pride pins were detailed. Each of these baubles is just over 2mm! canopyrobin.etsy.com/listing/4405...

no one ever had to be forced to use *good* tech.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

Dimon on why JPMorgan Chase is not funding WH Ballroom:
We have an issue, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful how anything is perceived, and also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.

I do love one of our most enduring internet jokes but god it so wasn’t worth it 😫
Remember in 2000 when Al Gore was repeatedly misquoted as having said he invented the internet and that was seen the eyes of many as disqualifying him from office? Simpler times. Today, Trump makes up lies equivalent to "I invented the internet" 30 times a week and no one bats an eye. Good job media

The thing where we’re simultaneously telling people they’re gatekeeping BUT ALSO it’s not that deep and we need to stop lecturing is weird as hell and tiring af.

This is about knitting but also life 😫

this reminds me of the Bridgerton response and how people were so confused that the main characters *changed* after season one, like writing essays about why that was a bad choice

which seems like a logical thing to them, but an *insane* thing to say to anyone who understands genre romance.
but this? shut the fuck up. guess what, my man, gorgeous young 22 year olds like to fuck. And queer people deserve love stories that are sexy and horny. a "chaste kiss" please be for real.

Y’all my absolute favorite time of year is starting - when everyone starts tagging me as they put up their Tree-Rexes!! I love love love seeing all your trees with something I made up there every year 🥰
We put up the Christmas tree today. Including the Tree-Rex for the first time, since we didn’t get around to decorating at all last year.

My oldest child, 5 minutes into A Muppet Christmas Carol, extremely suspiciously: “Heyyyyyyyy wait I know these monsters…”

Idk what about “Muppet” in the title and also every other viewing of this movie wouldn’t indicate that we would be seeing familiar characters but here we are lol

As many have been saying for a while, sure seems like the “who could AI replace” question has the opposite answer to what the bosses expect
The numbers in here are hilarious.

Do you use AI on the job?
Execs: 87%
Managers: 57%
Workers: 27%

Planned investment by 2030: $5T
"Necessary" annual revenue to justify that spend: $650B
Current annual revenue: $50B
Three years into the generative-AI wave, demand for the technology seems surprisingly flimsy

Once upon a time, hateful kids went to school to learn how to twist logic and science for precisely this reason.

Now, they're just crying to TPU, and I for one am glad that hateful shits are no longer learning how to pretend with the trappings of logic.

I know not every TV critic is familiar with the trappings of the romance genre, but I’m tired of the implication that sex can’t be an important plot driver for individual and shared character development.

Remember, the big argument for AI in the arts is that these “artists” have ideas, hundreds of ideas, thousands, all that was stopping them was the hoards of gatekeeping musicians, writers, illustrators… and not that they were lazy and didn’t want to put in the work.
