They've decided to try that in a small town
The feds do not share how many agents are still in Minnesota or how many arrests are taking place, but anecdotal accounts show their activities moving from the Twin Cities (where they encountered strong opposition) to suburbs, exurbs & small towns. (3) www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...
ICE drawdown? Indications point to steady enforcement activity outside the Twin Cities
Some people who observe ICE activity are skeptical about a large scale drawdown of agents in the state. There are indications that activity has decreased in the Twin Cities, but has continued outside ...

There is no cultural or spiritual tradition where this behavior is considered acceptable and that is because it tears at the very fabric of society. This is the stuff that brings generational curses from an angry God.
Two female ICE agents popped the hood of their car and knocked on the door of a mechanic born in Mexico. He went out to help.

My mom is a bit anti-vax-curious, but she went and got herself checked to see if she needed a measles booster because she knows im worried about it, which is very nice. And her immunity is great apparently. That one dose in the 1960s is still going strong

Thousands of institutions abandoned programs, ended or rewrote scholarships, closed down clubs and publications, all in pre-emptive compliance.

And you know why?

Mostly because they wanted to do it if they thought they could blame someone else for it.
BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.

This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.

You know how the constitution prohibits ex post facto laws? This feels ex post facty
This is a truly horrifying memo. It says that the policy of the US government will now be to proactively seek out and arrest likely tens of thousands of refugees who entered legally under Biden and subject them to detention, where they will be interrogated about their status.

In the concentration camp universe, this is what's known as a filtration camp. A government preemptively takes a whole class of people to interrogate and detain extrajudicially in order to inflict duress on them while arbitrarily assessing their (supposed) culpability.

If you don’t read old stuff you’ll never discover that people in the olden days had the same thoughts and feelings and dreams and anxieties you do, sometimes articulated differently, sometimes exactly the same way. You are never truly alone in anything and old writings are a neon sign telling you so

If I were in charge of this school (which will never happen because I do not want to be an admin) i would institute a whole-school read, like 3 times a year. I'd make everyone stop and listen to the same book read aloud. You're not getting out of my school without reading at least a half dozen books

This kid, whose father is a trump political appointee, just went on a little rant about how the west's fear of communism is unreasonable. I'm fascinated.
One of my students causally dropped that his dad is fairly high up in the trump administration, and then just as causally badmouthed someone else in the admin. We need circles because I want to tell you about it but I shouldn't blab like that in public

My guess is that the goal here is not only to punish the children for turning more people against ICE/DHS, but also to make news outlets think twice about reporting on kids' suffering at the hands of ICE/DHS, out of concern that doing so might lead to retaliation against the kids.
ProPublica published children's letters and drawings documenting their sadness and suffering at Dilley. And Dilley staff are now retaliating by confiscating kids' letters and drawings.
