Why did no one tell me that buttering your pancake pan is actually counter productive to getting the perfect surface.

Literally spent 5 years cooking brunch in kitchens and we always put fresh butter down for pancakes. But I’ve never made better pancakes than I do now

Pack them and fucking crack them. We’re going 10-1 in VA goddamn it. That should be the vision in every blue state.
the democratic response to this must be, in the words of @dennycarter.bsky.social, to go goblin mode on redistricting in the states where they have a trifecta. eliminate every republican district in those states.
This isn't a Supreme Court, it's just six Republican operatives imposing law on the rest of us in order to help Trump and MAGA destroy the Constitution and impose authoritarian rule.

Once again justified in my belief that Yale produces the dumbest people who think they’re smart.

They even outdo the other Ivy League schools. So I guess they’re first at something for once.
If the US Coast Guard stops a ship in international waters and seizes their cocaine, is that a war crime? The ship has not done anything illegal. Should we prosecute the Coast Guard Captain for piracy?

My health care plan went from 99 dollars a month to 624 dollars a month. Fuck the Republican Party.

I do think people should read the methodology on these things.

The “peer” is just a selected congressperson of similar demographics not an average across congress.

Confidence intervals overlap on almost all years.

The study has an n of 20.
After becoming a congressional leader, a politician’s stock portfolio beats out those of peers by 47 (!!!) percentage points a year through trades timed around bills and firms that later get government contracts

Honestly cringed seeing they put Nuzzi on… but she comports herself humiliatingly poorly in this interview.

Tim isn’t exactly a hardball interviewer here but Nuzzi is unable to answer so many questions without twisting herself into knots around how she “doesn’t want to be part of the discourse”.
@timmiller.bsky.social: "He's being nominated to HHS Secretary…You had information that you could have shared…and you didn't share anything about him. Why? Did you still love him?"

Olivia Nuzzi: "I don't know how to responsibly handle this on camera." lnk.thebulwark.com/4ozkaz8?utm_...

“I will not,” said Toad. “I am in my warm bed.”

It’s wrong to lump all top Trump people in one category. There are differences among them. But they do seem to fall into three (sometimes overlapping) categories:

• Ordinary criminals (grift and corruption).

• Sex criminals.

• War criminals.

Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?
