Simply amazing that the Supreme Court declared an end to legal race discrimination in the affirmative action case two years ago and now allows overt racism in both immigration arrests and redistricting.

Using race to help minorities? Bad. Using it to discriminate against them? Very, very good.

Wow the Supreme Court intervened to help Republican electoral prospects? That’s crazy. I bet it’s never happened before.

Heritage Foundation and their ilk aiming to legalize sex discrimination in employment.
Chris Rufo—a prominent anti-DEI crusader—-says the “idea that private companies should be able to prioritize hiring married men w/ families is completely within the bounds of rzbl debate, &…it's absurd that individuals cannot hire whomever they want [ie, discriminate] in their own companies…” 1/

On a lark, or maybe in a state of end-of-year wistfulness, this morning I reread something I wrote in 2024, about being a feminist in an age when most of my peers have abandoned feminism’s project. I’m still proud of it. open.substack.com/pub/moiradon...

I was asked to give a guest lecture to a class this week, right at the end of the term. I thought, the students will be stressed, why don't I bring them some cookies. So I baked 30 cookies. Monte ate almost all of them when I went out for a jog, moving a dining chair so that he could get to them.

One thing I always want to ask these masculinity entrepreneurs is why men can’t look to women as role models, and can’t see in women models of human virtue and thriving that are worth emulating. After all, women look to men for these all the time.

This is why Janet Malcolm—who to be clear would hate me and everything I stand for—is one of my own models.
i strongly, strongly believe that good writing is downstream of clear thinking and a strong understanding of the subject matter at hand. without fail, tortured writing comes from writers who don’t know and can’t think clearly about anything.
Oh man! This paragraph is brutal. The best thing about this review is it's not trying to be mean. It's just listing how bad the writing is.

Have been watching a lot of Marilyn Monroe movies for a project (also because I love her), and at the risk of indulging in nostalgia, its dramatic how much more thought seems to have been put into entertainment and craft back then even in the kind of middling Hollywood fare.

I’m so proud of Adrian and what he’s done with Project 1933, a project that has opened my eyes in ways that have challenged and surprised me. It’s been an honor to come along for the ride, and I’m so excited to see it in this next form.
So excited to finally get to share the news that PROJECT 1933 is going to be a book!!!
