Why did no one tell me that buttering your pancake pan is actually counter productive to getting the perfect surface.
Literally spent 5 years cooking brunch in kitchens and we always put fresh butter down for pancakes. But I’ve never made better pancakes than I do now

I went back and Re-read this interview and I thought it was great. He draws out a lot of the issues with the book but in a way that allowed for constructive but challenged response. I’ll say he definitely threw a few daggers in as the interview progressed.

"Given how most Democrats feel about the party these days, endorsements from establishment leaders are likely to be net negatives, and people will be clamoring for the support of party outsiders."
I heard something similar from Bradley Tusk, a venture capitalist who previously served as a deputy governor of Illinois and as a campaign manager for Mike Bloomberg's 2009 mayoral campaign. "I feel like that world doesn't exist anymore. Party machines are mainly dead," Tusk wrote to me. "Endorsements typically don't matter much because people have so little faith in institutions. The candidate with the most money doesn't necessarily win so having rich donors isn't enough. I think now it's a cult of personality rather than being blessed by a kingmaker."
These responses capture the wider frustration with the Democratic Party, but I don't necessarily agree that this sentiment negates the influence that powerful figures could potentially wield.

I’m looking at research right now about the fluidity of aesthetic preferences across lifetimes and it highlights that both young and old people demonstrate higher rates of it but change of preference occurred at all levels.
