Overjoyed to be in this, and in the company of so many incredible authors!!!
I need a timeline cleanse. How about a table of contents announcement! That’s right—despite the world being on fire, it’s time to reveal the TOC for Year’s Best Canadian F&SF Volume 3! It was VERY hard to narrow the list down but it's all killer, no filler. The book launches October 14. Enjoy! 1/2

I made a Chrome extension that swaps Times New Roman for Calibri on every site or just .gov. It also had Open Sans and Open Dyslexic, because f**k these people.

I’m waiting for Google’s approval for it to install automatically, but you can download it and install it in 90 seconds. Instructions 👇

One of my favourite reads this year, highly recommended!
If you've yet to purchase Woodworking, the debut novel from Emily St. James (that's me), the ebook is on sale everywhere for a few days. Just $1.99!

Also, the hardcover is readily available, and you can preorder the paperback, out in May. Hurrah!

WOW. So this is obviously a huge violation of this man's rights, and it illustrates a few things we're seeing broadly:

- DHS officers are ignoring peoples' IDs and instead requiring screening through their own systems
- Confirms @404media.co's reports of use of DHS's facial recognition app.

Thread on how to detect ai in that viral dog video
Yeah, I mean, I'm critical of any video nowadays that is trying to elicit an emotional response, especially when it's asking for subs at the end. It's weird that all the people seem to end up with the dog they want. And shelters are overflowing, where are the rooms full of people wanting to adopt?

BJ Colangelo deserves a criticism Pulitzer for the kicker here lolllll
There's a lot of talk about the steaminess of #HeatedRivalry, but there are more reasons to watch. Jacob Tierney's direction and the microexpression work of the actors is sublime — especially as mainstream American-produced streaming prioritizes "passive viewing."

Honestly folks, you don't have to be a frequent romance reader to enjoy Demas's books. Really carefully observed not-quite-historical fantasy in the Guy Kay mode with, yes, (queer) romance at their core.

All good, but can I suggest One Night in Boukos & The House of Red Balconies as 2 standalones.
Interested in reading some queer romance to relax after buying all the things (or staunchly resisting the call to buy all the things)? I have some ebooks on sale:
