If anyone has emailed saying my company, Discoglobe, is hiring for a freelance position, THIS IS A SCAM. I think they are using LinkedIn connections to find names to manufacture a veneer of legitimacy.
Doctorow’s Law of Enshittification tells us a service gets worse and more expensive once it reaches audience saturation and widespread adoption.
When I see LLMs pitched as a guaranteed productivity tool for software engineering, the is the counterweight I keep trying to get people to seriously engage with and not handwave away is the future cost, and “oh everything tech gets cheaper” isn’t an answer. Services don’t and LLMs are a service.

I have handed in my last assignment for the semester and now can play at being a human again for a few days, before diving back into it.

It's budget time so at the end of our interview w/ Mayor Bachynski, we gave him a printed poster of the image below. It's the density vs services vs taxes venn diagram that @brenttoderian.bsky.social often shares around. It includes Regina-related explanatory notes. #yqrcc

I'd like to think that PM Mark Carney is actually trying to help the Canadian economy, but he seems to be trying to do it by doubling down on the old way of doing things: focusing on exploiting natural resources, supporting established big business, etc. IMO, this is a path of diminishing returns.

The one peewee soccer game where my brother was goalie and scored a goal. The Worlds where three different Dance teams skated to Ghostbusters. The baseball game where @irenegambone.bsky.social and I invented a new language in the stands. Am I doing this right?
What are your five favourite sports games you've attended?

1. Super Bowl LXII
2. 1995 MILL Championship Game (Battle of the Gaits)
3. 2012 Western Conference Finals (Kings @ Coyotes)
4. 1994 Phillies home opener vs. Blue Jays
5. 1996 Eagles WC game vs Lions (Lomas Brown guarantee)

I do this too and not a single person has ever had anything negative to say about it. Only reason not to is if you think shadow references will make your life difficult, so it's better to not mention it.
My controversial take is that if you didn't get credited on a game you have proof you've worked on, just list it on your CV.

I do with one. Never had any issues.

Not being credited still sucks but you don't need to be polite when they're not.

Michelle Hwu - Audio Director

Michelle Hwu understands the often-invisible work that goes into building a cohesive audioscape.

What stood out in working with her wasn’t just her experience in game audio direction, but the care and intent behind every creative choice.

Remember: no matter what game you're working on, you'll end up making about 25% of it in the end. The key is to choose the correct 25%.

Passed this enormous xmas tree last week while riding my winter bike. A bonus to winter cycling I hadn’t considered, is continuing to see the city up close through all its seasons.

I like this a lot.
We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

Discord automatically recognizes Scrivener as a "game" and so when I opened it just now, discord invited me to invite other writers to "play" Scrivener with me. Unplug it all, make it all stop.

They are soft launching for the next two weeks & testing out menu items! Be the first to try stuff out!
