it’s just useful to have some context when considering them at different stages. i tried to word it broadly so people could just share whatever they’d done for other submissions.
neonhemlock.bsky.social
oh gosh not that long. anywhere from a tweet-length pitch to a synopsis of the CONCEPT is cool, so a paragraph or two max. but honestly whatever people share here is fine :)

Check out former intern Maddie Erb's rave review of THE MIMICKING OF KNOWN SUCCESSES (Tor, 2023) by Malka Older.

Death Valley Blooms by S.M. Mack. pubbed by @neonhemlock.bsky.social

it’s a novella, but packs so much of an emotional punch, it had me sitting at my computer, staring into middle space for a good hour

This collection of interconnected short stories by @yarntheory.bsky.social is nominated for the Ursula K. Le Guin prize (for good reason). The final story is easily my favorite. Highly recommended!
Hand holding a book by Ursula Whitcher called North Contient Ribbon. The cover depicts a sprawling green landscape with an elevated railway leading to a tower. There’s a lake next to it and some white birds. In the bottom center is someone in a green cloak with their back turned.

In our latest critical book-club, we talk about Melissa Scott's BURNING BRIGHT (@torbooks.bsky.social), a queer cyberpunk/space opera about political machinations and online role-playing games, with author Ursula Whitcher!

It remains an absolute thrill to be short-listed for this award. I'm making my way through the whole list and these books are IN-CRE-DI-BL-E

🌟 Shortlisted for the 2025 Ursula K. Le Guin Prize for Fiction 🌟 Remember You Will Die traces the lives of artists, activists, scientists, and more as they intersect with the existence of a yearning AI. Eden Robins weaves a polyphonic narrative that is intergenerational, art-filled, and subversive.

Am I doing a reading or conjuring up a ball of hallowed energies?

Thanks to @syr.bsky.social for inviting me to read from THE IRON BELOW REMEMBERS at hivemindbookstore.bsky.social last night!
