An older Black lady got into an elevator with me when I was all dressed up for a formal thing and told me “look at you. you look like a beautiful doll baby.” No one could tell me a goddamn thing for a good 48 hours. My head barely fit through the doors to step off.

the craziest one is probably still that Charlie Day saw my denim chicken and went "wow you're really good!"
the one that means the most is my (artist) dad seeing a drawing I did and saying "I know I told you that you didn't have what it took to be an artist as a teen but you proved me wrong"
