New Action Cookbook Newsletter! (Free today!)

It's been a hectic start to the new year, but as busy as I am, I've got to stop and look around from time to time to make sure I don't miss it all.

(Besides, after this week, things should slow down. Right?)

I am committed to bringing you the non-sequitur discourse your tired brain requires, so today I offer: a list of smells that would not make good candles but that I like anyway.

There's a lot going on in the world today, and I don't want to talk about any of it. Instead, I want to rank things that are good to have named after you.

It's the first Friday of a new year, and the ACBN is back from holiday hiatus.

Today, I make my annual case for "January is good, actually", then share a tasty salsa, a bright winter cocktail, books, music, pets and more!

I am going to take some time off from being online the next couple of weeks but I put some good stuff online this year and this is a recap of some of it
New Action Cookbook Newsletter!

I'm preparing for a much-needed Yule log-off, but before I slam my laptop shut, I've got some superlatives to hand out for the Year That Was on the ACBN.

It's obviously been a transitional cast year (these things happen! It's been 51 years!) but this is a real blow, Bowen's been the obvious star for a while now
Bowen Yang, who joined ‘Saturday Night Live’ as a writer in 2018 before joining the cast the following year, is leaving the NBC sketch-comedy series. The Ariana Grande episode on December 20 will mark his grand finale.

Does it match what he wanted before? Kind of, but different enough that it's now an issue!

The holidays are fast approaching, and my brain is already a bowl of figgy pudding. That's okay -- this time of year isn't for new ideas, it's for basking in old favorites.

Today, I'm revisiting the ACBN's holiday classics:
