O'Hara refusing to step away from the scene is something to keep an eye on
BREAKING: The Tribune confirmed on Instagram that the man shot has died, according to two sources with knowledge of the incident.

ICE attempted to order local police from the scene, but Chief Brian O'Hara refused, sources also told the Tribune. O'Hara instructed his officers to preserve the scene.

It really is kinda wild just how many MAGA influencers are either Hollywood hopefuls, has-beens or never-would-bes and you would think people would connect the dots when it comes to that. Hell, the MAGA Overlord himself is a B-list celebrity

Copies of these should be put up immediately on state/city property with this added: “The enslaved people memorialized here mean more to us than the president who tried to erase them. It is our patriotic duty to read every word on these signs.”
I took this photo in November because I was both surprised to see it still up and feared it would be taken down at any moment.

at the very least if a death squad is at some point out for protesters, who was or wasn't a protester becomes pretty immaterial
You are not going to be killed by a death squad. You face two primary risks: physical safety in volatile situations, which you minimize by deescalating and knowing boundaries, and prosecution, which you minimize by following the law and documenting your actions. Neither risk is zero.

Something I don’t think polling fully captures is the intensity of unpopularity. “Strongly disapprove” covers a wide range of attitudes. There’s “this sucks” strongly disapprove and there’s “it is now my life mission to destroy all that you stand for at all costs” strongly disapprove.
the incredulous "this is bullshit, are you fucking kidding" tone here is a sign that you have turned someone into a lifelong radical against you and people like you

this is a stupid tactic used by stupid people who don't have any other ideas
ICE agent asked why he's taking pictures of a legal observer's car, replies: "Cuz we have a nice little database and now you're considered a domestic terrorist. So have fun with that."

They are posting it so that when they work against the Democrat running in 2028 they can say later if a republican wins again that their wreckingball shit didn't actually matter. They do this every time.

National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

I am fully on board with calling Chuck Schumer a hapless poll-chasing relic unfit for the moment

Unfortunately many of those calling him as much are considerably less willing to extend the same sentiment, deserved in equal measure, to the everyday common working put-upon ordinary American

It’s not talked about enough how the entire media (and NFL fandom, generally) went all on in “OBJ VINDICATED” for two seasons when in retrospect OBJ was washed by 2019 and you needed an offensive mind of McVay’s caliber to get production out of him.

Cutting off tourist visas would actually be a very mild sanction that avoids hurting vulnerable Americans while informing the upper middle class that this is not a reality TV show
To those who are claiming that it'd be too cruel and extreme for the EU to cut off American tourist visas now (or to otherwise sanction or inconvenience us Americans in any way)....
