“Barry Lyndon” is such an amazing movie to look at but Ryan O’Neal is so inert in the role of what is supposed to be a charming bounder. Not the best casting.

In a couple of years, if this trend continues, people are going to freak out when the number of people leaving the UK exceeds the number of people coming in.

Probably gonna regret this but…before you curse all “DC media,” please consider that most of us are just working on our little stories, never mixing with VIPs and horrified by these freaks too

listen, i've seen a lot of bullshit that turned my stomach and sent me to therapy etc but lmao this shit's got every gc buzzing like "sorry what the fuck" LITERALLY ALL OF US THINK THIS IS WEIRD
I assume journalists do this stuff all the time. Maybe more on the editorial side, but as a non-journalist, I don’t particularly care what part of the organization is tasked to do the consent-manufacturing. This assumption is based on my observations of journalism in the run up to the Iraq War.

I see the most predictable thing ever has happened
Exclusive: President Trump has argued with the architect he handpicked to design a White House ballroom over the size of the project, reflecting a conflict between architectural norms and Trump’s grandiose aesthetic.
Trump wants a bigger White House ballroom. His architect disagrees.
The president and James McCrery had argued in recent weeks over the project’s size, with Trump pushing him to expand the ballroom.

Supreme Court for now allows Register of Copyrights to remain in office despite Trump's effort to fire her. It will decide what to do after it hears arguments in the more high profile cases over Trump's attempt to fire Lisa Cook from the Fed and members of other hitherto independent agencies.

Another Trump case bites the dust
NEW: Skandalakis is now moving to dismiss Trump’s Georgia case
BREAKING: Pete Skandalakis, executive director of the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia, has appointed himself to prosecute the case against Trump and others in Fulton County.

The move follows a court ruling that disqualified Fani Willis from pursuing the case.

NEW: DOJ identified top US officials involved in the decision not to turn around planes of deported migrants in March per a judge’s order, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, and Judge Emil Bove (a DOJ official at the time)

This should be a major scandal. The Blaze falsely reported that a former U.S. Capitol Police officer was the Jan. 6th pipe bomber. But it wasn’t just another miss by conservative media promoting conspiracies.

Someone in US intel - at ODNI - was promoting it:

This is so crazy because there are so many talented journalists out there who will do the work for very little pay (unfortunately). It's such a weird scam, but also another sign that AI as it exists now is not targeted in the right direction.

I would get rid of editorials altogether, but it you're going to insist on writing them, maybe move beyond pet peeves.
At this point, the Washpost edit page is just trolling its readers.

This is today's actual house editorial.

In college I wrote a piece called "Up Yours Star Wars," which I still stand by, with honorable exception of Andor.
There are two great SW movies (1 and 2 here) and one great show ("Andor"). The rest ranges from fun slop to awful slop.
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”
