Whistles are your friend.
i think the synthesis so far of the LA/DC/Chicago experiences is:

1) vulnerable people should hide and wait it out to whatever extent they can
2) other people should help them do that, financially and otherwise
3) other people should also get loud
4) not violent though
Greg Bovino is leading a rebel cavalry terrorizing America—and it's important to recognize that it's in retreat. While the trauma and terror Bovino’s raiders instill is real and damaging, it’s remarkable to note how ineffective the force has turned out to be. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/trump-bord...

I actually think it's good that AI writing is mid. For one thing, a lot of writing just needs to be mid, so it's good it can crank out a boilerplate customer service letter. But great writing, and great art, are beyond it because it is not conscious, at least not yet.

it is true that racists exist throughout the United States

but to try and equivocate and say that it's not a uniquely localized problem in the American South is absurd

which is very strange for someone who later accurately says it's due to the South's unique history!

bsky.app/profile/espi...
The south is not racist because of its demography - it’d the Blackest part of the country. It’s racist because of its history and also because of *rural* white enclaves — which exist all over the country

I'm gonna be honest, I always expected the right to swing right back to "Anything after menarche is okay" once one of their own was directly implicated. Pedocon Theory is real.
Yes? They are?

This was and is abhorrent to me. I never cared whether my daughter was chaste or wanton, I cared that she was happy and successful by her terms. Indeed, I think men who care too much about the "purity" of their daughters have something deeply wrong with them. You do not own your daughter.
Video of Speaker Mike Johnson making his daughter take the "purity pledge" filmed by a German show.

Purity culture is so gross, giving ownership of a girl's autonomy to her father then passed to her husband. If it's all about just keeping children safe, why is it just the girls?

relatedly, ralph nader deserves to be remembered for the rest of time as someone who voluntarily assisted in a critical attack on american democracy, the importance of which far outweighs any of his consumer advocacy
bush v gore is the hinge upon which basically everything awful from the last quarter century swings on
i don't think that bush v. gore is the *worst* ruling in the history of the supreme court, but i do think it is the most openly *corrupt* ruling in its history. a real disgrace.

There's layers to why this is disturbing and I don't know how to explain it.
It's more disturbing that mediocre PodBros white men no matter the political spectrum are literally having a fundamental moral crisis about why rape and sexual assault are bad, no matter the age.

That's the real tea here.

Doesn’t matter. “Starmer and Mahmood wanted to take jewellery from asylum seekers” is a mark those two will never be able to wash off and which the party as a whole will have to put in onerous work to remove.
My guess is they will end up u-turning on the jewellery thing (you can already see it being softening in interviews) and possibly the 20 years (which is way longer than Denmark).
