I think I (32F) nuked my relationship with my boyfriend (32M) by drawing a hard line. My boyfriend and I have been together for nearly two years, living together for one. He had purchased his house prior to us dating, and I was renting an apartment, so it made sense for me to move in to his house. He continued to pay the mortgage and I took on all of the "usage" bills - all of the utilities and annual maintenance as well as the grocery shopping & we felt that it was a fair split. We're on the same page with all the big ideas - we know we want to marry each other and start a family following that. But to be in a position to start a family, the house is going to need a lot of renovations & we've always thrown around the idea that the cost of renos would be my "buy-in" so to say on the house. From our estimates, everything we would want to do would be around $100k at the low end. We even agreed that we could draw up some kind of agreement to protect both of our interests financially. IG & Threads: @ask As it's gotten closer to reality of reaching out to contractors and banks I've felt more and more unsettled about the situation. I feel confident in our relationship, but foolish to be making an investment in a boyfriend's asset. I told him that I would like to be engaged before starting this process so I feel like he's making a commitment to me as much as I am. We've talked about being engaged prior to this, but he said adding this element makes it feel very transactional and takes away the romance and sparkle of it all. I didn't tell him I wanted to be engaged by a specific date or anything like that, just that if this renovation is what we wanted to pursue, this is the action I'd like to take before hand. He seemed upset by my statement and I feel like I really have taken some of the romance and surprise out of the idea of a proposal or being engaged. The morning after this conversation was cold and tense and I can't help but feel like I've done irreparable damage... but I don't

When you ask a man not to make you responsible for his emotions.... Was I actually responsible for his emotions because he liked me and I chose to communicate with him? Social? Are we responsible for the emotions of others? Should we be expected to take on the load of someone else's happiness? I thought the answer was no. He sent me an overbearing love bombing text after I had asked him to stop nicely (multiple times) because this wasn't the first time, I responded that I am not responsible for his emotions and that he needs to take responsibility. He flipped immediately told me I'm using him (?), that I'm an awful person, etc. even though we've only been friends since we reconnected. I called him out for flipping out. He apologized and tried to gaslight me. Then flipped out again, started calling me and telling me I had to talk to him and I told him he needs mental help because he was spamming me with angry texts and calls. This is how he responded.... Along with Oh yeah, one more thing cause at this point just want you to know and I don't want you to ever forget this for the rest of your life. I want you to know this you are the sole responsibility of my emotional feelings because if you hadn't reached back out to me, I went feel this way and I can't control my emotions. I'm sorry, but I want you to remember that I want you to live with that for the rest of your life that you caused it and you know what it may hurt because it's true. It's your fault not mine because I didn't. It's not my fault. I feel this way towards you. It's not my fault. I find you attractive so I feel frcked with. I'm not entirely surprised that she did this, as she is quite vein and self absorbed. But I am utterly disappointed and disgusted by her behavior and need a way to vent to even begin to process how a mother can do this to her only daughter. I recently had a destination wedding in Punta Cana that lasted an entire weekend. My mother and the wedding planner, who is also her friend, have essentially been planning this wedding behind my back for the last year and a half. I've had little to no input on decisions surrounding the wedding. Any ideas I would give was always shut down by them. I was told it wasn't possible or it can't be done. Anytime I asked about what was going on with the wedding, I was told that it was all a surprise or that they would share details with me later and they never did. All in The day before the wedding they had planned a white out party for the rehearsal dinner. The idea being that everyone would show up in white. At some point over a year ago my mother, the wedding planner and I were on a 3 way call. Our first and only 3 way call might I add. They were discussing vague details for the wedding and white party and had mentioned that for the white party we should have the women of the court be in silver and the men in black, and my fiancée and I in red. I neither agreed or disagreed to this as we were discussing multiple things at once. Fast forward to a couple months before the wedding, my mother mentions she's ordering a silver dress for the white out party. I told her to get white because the idea I had in my head was for everyone to be in white and my fiancée and I would be the only ones in red. She refers back to this phone call from over a year ago and says that I agreed to this. I told her I never agreed to it and I never asked any of my bridesmaids day of the wedding comes and my mom is wearing a gold dress with even more exposure. One accidentally flick and you will see all areola. I was asked beforehand if I wanted the moms to have bouquets and the dads to have boutonnieres. I said no to both. But that didn't matter as my mom showed up with a golden bouquet for herself and a matching boutonniere for my dad and again nothing for my in laws. The wedding court is all lined up outside by a bush waiting for the ceremony to start to begin walking. My mom, who is first in line, is panicking and asking my in laws and my bridesmaids to hide her because she doesn't want people to see her before she walks down, as if she's the bride. The ceremony starts and she starts to walk on the beach with her gold bouquet and before she steps onto the aisle runner, she takes a big bow. She then stands at the end of the aisle rather than sit like I had asked her to do. There's many other small petty details of that weekend I could share but I think
