When the 8 year old daughter is telling you to dump him
I (28f) and boyfriend (28m) got into to an argument tonight and am I overreacting if I want to break up? relationship Throwaway account. One of my first times posting. I just feel very alone and need advice. Some background: My boyfriend and I have been together for 9 years. We've both made mistakes - I'm not perfect and neither is he. We have an 8-year-old daughter and I'm currently pregnant with our second child (30 weeks). What happened tonight: My boyfriend works overnight, so he usually sleeps while I make dinner and take care of our daughter. Around 6:40 pm, I started cooking dinner for both of us. • Around 7:00 pm, I fed our daughter (she chose chicken nuggets). • Around 7:40 pm, I woke my boyfriend so he could get ready for work, then went back to the kitchen to finish packing his food. • By 7:50 pm, everything was packed and ready for him. I went back to the living room to make sure he was awake and said something like, "Hey, you're not up yet. I thought you wanted to get up earlier for work." He got irritated and said, "I am up. Can't you see I'm on or my phone? Don't start the night like this." I walked away and went to sit down to eat. It was about 8:00 pm, and I had just sat down when my daughter said she was hungry I got a little frustrated because I had just sat down to eat and I'm very pregnant. I calmly explained to her that next time she needs to try to eat enough at dinner so she isn't asking for snacks 30-40 minutes later. My boyfriend overheard this and came into the kitchen with what felt like an attitude. He said, "She's hungry, just feed her," then walked away. I got up to get her an apple. He came back again and said, "Just give her a snack. She's hungry." I tried to explain why I was a little upset and what had happened. That's when things escalated. He started yelling and cursing at me, saying I couldn't talk to him like that, that he wasn't a "f***ing child," and that I was disrespecting him. I'll admit once he raised his voice, I raised mine too - but I was trying to explain my side. I told him he needed to stop, that I wasn't going to keep arguing, and that he needed to step back. He got angrier and said I started the argument by being disrespectful and having an attitude. That made him explode. He started throwing things and threw the food I packed for work at the wall. He walked away to get dressed. Our daughter came back into the kitchen to throw away her apple trash. When he came back in, he said to her: "Next time don't tell your mom you're hungry, because she won't care and won't feed you." I immediately told him that was not okay and that he needed to leave. That led to more yelling. Eventually, I told him I was done arguing and that we were done. He left for work. After he left, my daughter came to me crying and said she didn't think I was being rude. She told me I should break up with daddy because he was being mean, throwing things, and she didn't want him to be mean to her baby brother. That absolutely broke my heart. Why I'm posting: I love him, and I truly believe he is a good person - but when he's in a bad mood or feels disrespected, he completely goes off. He yells, curses, throws things, and refuses to see my side. I don't know

Baby names need to be two YESSES.
He has to name the babies or else We're expecting twins later this spring. We have a two year old child. My husband's family (bc of request of his parents) named all their kids with the first letter L. They had many kids, all L-names. All their children are L-names, except one sister whose husband didn't want only L-names. So many, many L-named grandchildren, I knew L-name was important, so first child I agreed and although I didn't love the name, we found one that wasn't repeated amongst the grandchildren. Fair. Now, with expecting 2 babies this spring, early on I shared with him the two names I like, they reflect my family and our traditions. Doesn't begin with L. He said no. I left it at that for months and didn't discuss it bc I knew it was sensitive for him. Yesterday, he opens it up by himself and says he's chosen 2 L-names. I don't like either and they feel forced bc nothing pretty or suitable is left of L-names after so many grandchildren born. IG & Threads: @ask I told him no. Our firstborn honored the tradition, these two babies, I want to name them. He blew up. And said, if I name them non L-names it's a dealbreaker and he'd divorce me. I'm surprised and shocked by his response and reaction. I was calm. He repeated it three times he'd divorce me if I did this. I'm mad. I'm heartbroken. I'm shocked. I'm not backing down...I think. Names should have meaning and not hold to some request made by his father years ago. I honored and respected it with our firstborn. And we're not having anymore children after these twins. Am I wrong to challenge this? What kind of man tells his wife this while she's carrying his children? He was level 10-max angry. They're not cats and dogs to be named some random name just because if begins with a specific letter. I swear if they were nice, meaningful, or suitable L-names left, I would do it. But there aren't. We moved in together pretty quickly and when the holidays came around I wanted to bring him home to meet my family. My dad said absolutely not. He told me my boyfriend wasnt welcome to stay over and we definitely werent sharing a room under his roof. I told him we were adults living together and it felt ridiculous but he didnt budge. He said until we were married he wasnt comfortable with it. So instead of leaving my partner alone for the holidays I booked us a place nearby. My dad was annoyed that I wouldnt just follow his rules but I told him I was respecting them by not staying there. This went on for years. Every visit I had to get a separate place because he wouldnt let us sleep in the same room. My mom thought it was silly but my dad held firm. Fast forward to now. My parents split up a couple years ago and my dad has been seeing someone new for about a year. My younger sister still lived with him until recently and she moved out because she was tired of hearing them at night. She told him that was why and he got defensive saying she should be happy hes found someone. Now my dad wants to come visit me for a week or two and bring his girlfriend. I told him she can come but theyre not sharing a room in my house. He got upset and said hes an adult and I should respect that. My (23F) boyfriend (24M) wants me to "stop having my period." Can I even recover from this? We've been dating for 2 months. Things have been going well. Yesterday he asked me to go to the gym with him and I declined saying "I don't feel up to it, I started my period." He was all like "Wait what?" and I repeated myself. Then he goes "You know you don't have to do that to yourself right?" I was like dude wtf are you saying? He goes on the explain that his ex was on a type of birth control that got rid of her period and overall made their relationship "more enjoyable." He asked me to consider doing the same. I told him absolutely not. don't want to switch birth control methods and if he doesn't like me having periods then he can dump me. I told him "Good luck finding a girl who doesn't have a period." He said "I already had one. I'll find another." I'm so appalled. What the fuck is wrong with him? I know there are methods to stop periods, but for him to imply that I'm a rarity for having them was INSANE. This is the first time I've brought up my period to him. My husband gets mad that I don't wear a bra. I need some guidance. I hate wearing bras, so at home I never have one on. I wear large shirts and I'm very small chested so you can't tell either way. He gets mad when I open the door to my ex husband when he's dropping off our son. He said it bothers him that my ex gets to see me. But again, I am wearing a large shirt and the exchange is fairly quick. He says I don't consider him at all. I have been putting on a jacket every time since he's brought it up. But I forgot to recently and he went off on me. Am I in the wrong? Tl;dr: my husband thinks I should wear a bra when answering the door to my ex even though it's a brief child exchange and you can't tell if I'm wearing one or not. So, for context this is a text my fiancé got sent from HIS dad (and sent the ss over to me then) I'm getting married soon and my fiancé and I are having a SMALL wedding. We've already sent save-the-dates to the people we actually have relationships with, and we're still finalizing the rest of the guest list. Recently, my fiancé's dad told my fiancé that his grandparents are upset because my fiancé's aunt and uncle haven't received a save-the-date yet. These are relatives we do not speak to and do not have a relationship with. They also did not invite us to their own kid's wedding but What really upset me is that this has now turned into a conditional situation. The message we received was essentially that if we don't invite the aunt and uncle, then my fiancé's grandparents won't come either. That feels incredibly unfair and honestly hurtful. Like idk our wedding is not meant to be a bargaining chip or a tool to "keep the peace," and it doesn't sit right with me that attendance is being framed as leverage. I don't understand why the responsibility to smooth things over falls on us, especially when there's no existing relationship there to begin with. We aren't excluding anyone out of spite. We're simply inviting people who are present in our lives. Being pressured to invite people we don't speak to, simply to avoid upsetting others, feels inappropriate and exhausting. I'm especially hurt because this takes what should be a happy, personal decision and turns it into family politics. We want his grandparents there, but not at the cost of ignoring our own boundaries

AITAH for getting mad at my husband about his dead ex-gf? My husband (29M) and I (27F) have been together for 4 years now and have been married for the last 6 months. Prior to us meeting, my husband had an ex-girlfriend from when he was younger who he was with for 10 years. I've known about her since we first started dating and had no issues as I understood that they were together for a long time and she was his first love. Well she had left him out of the blue stating that she simply did not love him anymore. He was heartbroken over this situation then later on, she passed away unexpectedly. Recently, he was intoxicated and we got into an argument unrelated to his ex-gf. Somehow the argument turned into him talking about their relationship. He emphasized that they were together for 10 years and that he still to this day doesn't understand why she didn't love him anymore. That he doesn't really talk about her to me because 'it doesn't matter' but that he still has nightmares about his heartbreak. Then he said something along the lines of 'What can you do when the love of your life says she doesn't love you like that anymore? Nothing. You can't do nothing, just go find the next best thing'. It stung when he said that because he made it seem like I was just someone he married because he couldn't marry her or be with her. Since then, I haven't talked to him as I feel hurt that even after being married, he called another woman the love of his life.
