In all seriousness Mamdani has just set the bar for what we can expect of our leaders when dealing with Trump. Hold them to it.

Trump saying Mamdani is not a jihadist… he is now to the left of Debra Messing on this issue.

I don't mean this in an "I told you so" way, but it was very obvious to me that the Mamdani/Trump meeting would go the way it did, because Mamdani is ascendant, popular, powerful and charismatic, all things that Trump wants to glom on to. Trump has no principles; it's not like he has converted.

Wizened Millennials sneering at Gen Alpha: I told you the old ways are best

Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

Sex ed is more than anatomy and sexually transmitted infections. It's relationships, identity, the full spectrum of what it means to be human, to care for ourselves and for each other. Join 192 donors who’ve contributed $21,817 to our $40k healthcare fundraiser! www.classy.org/campaign/sca...
This is a moment of uncertainty and fear in sex ed. Governments are restricting access to sexual health information with tactics such as age verification laws and treating sex ed as pornography to deny young people access to information that provides them with accurate sexual health information.

It's almost Thanksgiving! Got an ICE member coming for dinner at your house? No you don't! Can't stop them because you're not the one hosting? No problem. You can shun them, mock them, shame them, cough in their food. They get the weird chair. No weird chair? Make a weird chair.

I understand the reasoning behind zeroing in on ICE & DHS abducting citizens. But when you lead with what's perceived as your most sympathetic cases, you cede the moral high ground & make arguing for others harder. It is wrong for armed, masked gestapo to grab people - doesn't matter their status.

i remain shocked at just how badly elite higher ed admins have stewarded universities. these presidents and chancellors and provosts, supposedly accomplished people, have collectively overseen a staggering nationwide collapse in every respect.
One reason why elite schools (Columbia, Brown, Cornell) caving to Trump’s illegal impoundment and extortion is so galling — a betrayal, really — is that they would have won had they fought. By giving up, they guaranteed every other school will have to fight harder.

If you want people to believe a different story, you have to tell a different story. And more than tell it. People learn by example. They must be shown the truth that, for example, immigrants are awesome, respecting other races is rewarding, working people generate our wealth, and so on.
