People want to think of abuse as a story of individual monsters who can be rooted out and taken down because it is comforting to think of it as just some bad guys we can lock up, but abuse is really much more about systems that enable bad actors to exploit vulnerable people.

So thankfully Anthem did *not* reject my claim for my annual GYN exam, and while I was looking at the EOB I saw that with adjustment, my bill for my annual physical has gone from $540 to $36.20 for the EKG. So... complaining works.

The thing about Congress is you basically have to be rich to afford to run in the first place so the objectively high salary paid to Congressmembers feels like poverty wages
