One of the reasons I so greatly dislike the “can men and women be friends?” nonsense (yes, full stop, shut up) is that it casts suspicion on people with opposite-sex friends instead of where it more often belongs: on people with no opposite-sex friends.
Anyway, yeah. The overwhelming impression one gets from so many of these emails is that a lot of them are guys who have never had a real, serious friendship with a woman in their lives.

Which sucks for them, but also sucks for every woman who has to deal with them, ever.

Really hard to look at this and all the other examples of bravery and kindness from ordinary people in this moment not think also of the tremendous cowardice exhibited over the past year by some of the richest, most well-protected people in business, media and politics
Let us all have the courage displayed by the residents of Minneapolis.

Here is a photo he used for several accounts.

Gotcha—let’s dig into that step by step.

1. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵, because I turned you into an amorphous lump of flesh. You’re not just immobile—you’re immortal, and you feel only anguish.

2. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺. That makes total sense—it’s a natural human impulse, and you’ve been through a lot.

Let tonight be a lesson to all of us: Make sure you have established your own, and are aware of your loved ones', advance directives.

Do you want to be awakened from your slumber when It Happens? Or do you want to find out when you awake naturally and unlock your phone? Let your loved ones know.

Still baffled that mclaughlin's outrageous conduct is not even A Story. It's been months and months of this shit, how does no one in journalism care
Like how can we have endless pieces about fucking dissertation plagiarism and not one about "the spokesperson for DHS tells specific, easily-disproven lies constantly to provide cover for serious crimes against the public" how is that not a big deal? Do I have to write this shit myself?!?!?

Nuanced take: I think it's really important to give *normal citizens* who supported Trump and off-ramp and *professional writers, pundits and politicians* who supported Trump should have to wear it like a scarlet letter for the rest of their lives
This is aggravating, because on the one hand I think it's really important to give fascists an off-ramp and positive reinforcement when they use it...

...on the other hand, FUCK that guy, in particular.

at the end of the day, the problem is very simple and has been unchanged for a long time. if people recognized reality, they would have to do something about it.
McBride: Look, people are clutching their pearls at this guy yelling something at the president. They are more offended by a worker standing up to the president and calling him out for his hypocrisy than they are by the president trying to cover up for a human trafficking ring

I don’t think they’re misreading them so much as they are terrified of the implications because it means the status quo has to break. there’s no incrementalism for this. mass radicalization of this scale scares Democrats more than anything Republicans could do and I mean that literally.
Kind of feel like a lot of politicians, even in Minnesota, are misreading the implications of this moment. I feel like the past three days have been tremendously radicalizing for so many people. I have witnessed it even in my own small communities, it goes beyond just incandescent rage.

Here's a guy who has ensured, personally, that millions of children die over the next 20 years, and millions more are born into a world where anyone who wants to can literally push a button to produce CSAM of them on demand.

It's a mindboggling, cosmic horror scale of depravity.

This is probably going to demand a depressing amount of repetition, but here goes.

If Renee Nicole Good was a childless foreign national, its still wasn't OK for a federal employee to straight up execute her. Begging everyone to not concede one inch of ground to this toxic framing.
The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, a US citizen and the mother of a small child.

One thing I'm always on about is how much we talk about "mass manipulation" when the real game of the last decade has--i think obviously--been various kinds of elite influence operations.
wondering when the last time was that Trump watched footage that wasn't manipulated by AI
